Thread: Why you can't find a BE on your server...

I occured to me the hunting terminal idea might be posted on the wrong board. Does anyone know what board it should be on? This idea is good for us, but it applies to alot of the other professions as well. And yeah I'm being a little lazy asking where to post this, but everytime I even glance at other boards I'm struck dumb by the sheer number of idiots that post. (Does anyone else see the extreme low level of reading comprehension out there?) I'll hide here in the bio corner for now.
Since Creature Harvesting is a Scouting skill, perhaps there? I don't mind seeing it here, but we are probably getting a fairly one-sided view of it, since we are meat's primary consumers, but not representative of the hunters.

My suggestion would be to post it on the ranger forum. In fact I think I've already read this proposal (in slightly altered form) there a long time ago.
The Ranger board may be a place to gain input about it, as well as the Scout board. Although, really, I'm surprised I haven't seen "Why you can't find a Ranger on your server..." over there, as I am recently trawling that profession board too. (I check the boards of the elite or hybrid professions I've put forth such effort to reach.)
Actually, the point following this is fairly relevant... this is something that spans multiple professions, and systems. Although the long post with really good ideas involving a disclaimer, legal options, and such, makes me think that if Merchants are involved, they should change their name to Lawyers. But then we don't need a third faction in the GCW. (BTW, bumping is really bad, and shame on all of the people that do it. Although I was tempted to bump, I instead found the enlightened kharma gained by offering an unsolicited opinion to sooth my nerves.)
Also, if the goal is to get this idea out and potentially in front of the Devs, the Ranger board isn't a good idea. I'm sure Arthur can vouch for the fact that the Rangers have been wanting Dev love for as long as the Smugglers, and have recieved very very little. Tends to indicate that ranger forums aren't a regular dev read. Maybe if we start a topic in several forums, titled "DEVs!! READ THIS PLEASE!" and have it posted by all the correspondents of various professions...
Nah.

Hylidex wrote:I really think there should be a "Why you can't find a ranger on your server" thread. Rangers have needed love for a LONG time. Unlike CH that had several high-profile nerfs, rangers experienced a slow whittling away as traps failed to work, vehicles made searching for specific creatures easier, and the need for camps was reduced. Furthermore, as people left the CH profession, and BE pets became less profitable, the money disappeared from two best potential customers for rangers. As a result of the slow process, most rangers quietly found more profitable professions, and the ranger profession suffered mass emigration without the loud outcry.
Rangers have high mask scent and camo abilities, so of course you have a hard time finding one on your server.![]()

Since it seems to be needed again...
Very true...
Also here is as good a place as any to announce my retirement from the commercial side of BE...
I have pretty much been burnt out over the past few months and will no longer be taking orders for anything BE or otherwise.
I still plan to keep BE (just cant stop typing /sampleDNA )but will only be helping out guildies with tissues and pets.
This will mean I'm a little strapped for cash, but I have enough for one hell of a good night out
(And at least I get free food)
There have been MANY occasions where I have logged in my alt firstinstead of my mainas I knew that within 10 mins of coming online I would get tells/mails. (As well as those sent while I have been offline)
I do not walk around with MBE tag (Breeder), I do not advertise. I have taken down my Chef Tissue vendor, and only have Fear Release and Scent Neut on my Tailor Tissues vendor. But still I am getting too many tells.
I just dont have the time available to *play* the game instead of running factories for very little profit. Final Year of Uni takes precedence, and with less playtime, I want to do fun things when I log in not run aroundfor people.
(Halthron, u want to take over some of my business? I have some Chefs who may be needed a new BE. Need a direction to point them in.)
here here mate. i quit BEing primarily for the fact that it was just too much work. when i looked back on what i did, I had especially great fun spending the 45m quid I had made from it. It's more fun making pets and imo, I would only do tissues for a short term, get-rich-quick type scheme. Hope you stay on making pets because as we all know, its one of the funnest thing to do in the games and its why I am grinding BE again (3rd time

Thanks but I don't produce a whole lot. I have two factories I run maybe 3 to 4 runs a week on which probably wouldn't make a dent in your customers requirements
