How many Chefswould be willing to charge for a schematic? In other words, a customer brings the resources, has their own factory, obviously pays all of their maintenance and power, but needs the services of a Master Chef to make a schematic out of their ingredients. So they come to you and say I would like to manufacture my own (food) can you make me a schematic based on the ingredients I have so that I can manufacture some of my own?

Would you do this? If so, what would you charge? Perhaps the cost of what you would charge for a crate of the item they are manufacturing?

Thoughts??

I refuse to do it, if they want to make use of the time and effort I put into mastering chef, and learning how it works, thay can either purchase the goods I make, or not at all.

I have made one person a schematic before (several months ago_, and it turned out he had been given all the resources free by someone leaving the game.
He asked me to do a tat sunburn schematic for his personal use, so I did a 1000 use, he then did a factory run & flooded the market with 100cr stacks of sunburns, and told people he was making a profit on that, so all other chefs were ripping people off.

I dont do it either, even if said person decided to sell the stuff at the right price, it still has his name as the object creator...and I dont want my customers going to him to buy my food..nor do I want him telling people I made schems for him and then being flooded with requests for it or him having crappying ingredients and me making a crappy schem due to it and him telling people I made it for him (when its not a good product due to what was provided) I put too much time and energy into cheffing for any of the above to take place.

Wow! There's good feedback arguing for and against this idea. I appreciate your input!

Thanks!

I did this just the other day actually. A friend and associate who is a Entertainment Agent on my server (she books your parties and engagements with full band and dancers for a small fee) was throwing a party and she wanted me to make her a full run of Beer and cake.

Well i barely have time to keep up with my own vendor neverless drop everything to make 1k or beer and cake. So i told her if she brought me the ingredients i would make her schematics so she could to the runs herself.

Worked out great for me. She got her party treats and i didnt have to make the durn things.

But i guess as far as selling a GOOD schematic for say BOH or Fishak no. I wouldnt do that unless they were willing to bring me the materials (good ones) and i would charge them half of an ENTIRE run for the schematic.

I've done it. Fellow was a former master chef who dropped it because he was tired of dealing with the bugs. He wanted a schematic for something...I can't remember if it was fishak or something else...doesn't really matter though...he stated it was for his personal use, hesaid he gathered the resourcesa while back and finally ran out of the stuff he made while master. He had a factory and everything already, so it was just a schematic he needed. When he handed me the components tomake the schematic I noticed a couple of the resources were OLD...hehe reallyold...so that lent a bit to his credibility. Wish I could remember what it was...

Anyway...made the schematic and had no intent of charging him...when he asked how much, I don't him not to worry about it. I thinkhe was a bit surprised...and he tippedsomething fairly reasonable...I don't remember the amount, just that it seemed overly generous for a single minute ofeffort. So I would likely do this again in the future...

Although, I do have the concerns that others have regarding those that would abuse our trust...you just have to get a feel for someone and decide to either trust your optimism or pessimism...

I'm somewhat torn, but mainly leaning towards no.

For the stuff this person would want it wouldn't be one schematic anyway. It would be subcomponent schematics, plus the final item schematic. Maybe if I was out of the business. For now, while I'm still selling product I see no real reason to do it.

If someone wanted a schematic for wedding cake and the subcomponents for the cake I would do it, because I don't sell wedding cake, and it's a special occaision item.

For the big selling master items, I'd say no.

need some help. i just started chef. is there a way to find out which schematics are what # from my crtl+d list? i have a macro that i use to craft but i need to know the #'s

i am master artisan/tailor so there are like 300 items that i can craft. is there a way to find which one is which ## or is it completely random. i tried 1st entry is 0 and 1 but neither were the 1st thing on my list, so the "easy" way that i could have counted to find what is what is out the window.

Unfortunately you have to start counting from number one. What I did was pick like number 50 and go from there once I got to the foods/drinks. Good luck.

Best way is to just guess.

If you really want to calculate it, you need to go in the list and count each one that is possible to appear in your tool until you get ot the one you want. You need to take complexity into account depending if your standing next to a public or private crafting station also general vs specific crafting tool will matter. Like I said, best way is to just guess.

If it's a tradeable schematic, you do it the same way you do anything on the datapad. Open your datapad, and the trade window, and drag the schematic onto the trade window.
