Thread: A rational point about this whole pet vs probot comparrason

The comparison is exagerated to make a point.
The real bottom line is that if BE is not left alone and is nerfed, non-ch pets wont be worth squat. A non-ch will be better off with a probot, because theyll be cheaper, more readily available, usable emmediately, dont require expensive Pet Stims (batteries are a lot cheaper), less space occupied on the datapad by useless pets, and trainable in all commands w/o the need for a MCH. Role reversal will be the strategy of the day. The player will tank. The probot or BE pet will peck at the target while not being touched until the player is incapped.
That is if the player is of the mentality that every bit of damage done to the target helps. If hes of the mentality that its not worth the trouble, then BEs will lose bigtime business. I wont use a non-ch pet or probot. Its a waste of time, datapad space, money, and is toomuch of a hassle for a virtually useless pet. If I cant have a good pet for my CH Levelit willbe a waste of skill points and inefficient. As such, I will drop my CH skills. As other non-master CHs realize this, they too will drop their CH Skill.
Im sure you'll enjoy selling Pet Stims to the remaining MCHs,a few skill mod tissues, and the odd pet here and there. Great money that.
Excellent points that I have been trying to make for some time in all these exhausting threads.
What is the role of non-CH pets in this new era? That is the question I have wanted answered over and over again. Sumo replied and I thank him for his efforts and courtesy. His reply was something to the effect that these pets will be "better than nothing" when compared to the wild alternatives.
The "better than nothing" argument will not wash with my Bounty Hunter character. Count him in the "not worth the effort" category. And I strongly suspect this is where the majority of all non-CH's sentiments will lie. He is still playing with a post-nerf wild spat mount due to all the controversy here and impending nerf. He keeps it stored for the most part. He does not want to play pet medic in a fight and burn through pet stims where the spat can no longer hold aggro for more than one or two rounds.
Please note that I realize the "uber pets" are WAY UNBALANCED. What I am and have always been talkingabout is leaving us the ability to create a decent non-CH pet that will not be eaten alive by a pack of angry kaadus. A BE'd pet equivalent to wild CL 13-15 is not decent and will not cut it, in my opinion. Not worth the effort for my non-CH Bounty Hunter or my weaponsmith.
What would be my definition of a decent non-CH pet? My BE can consistently create CL10 mounts with 5K/3K/2K HAM and 20ish resists using many different methods and no "suspect" DNA. Such a pet would not allow a free pass to any high-level content but would still enable many non-CHs to solo some intermediate level content.
I really respect Sumo's reply on one of these threads where he admitted hereally did not agree withthe new creature changes, particularly the nerfing of all wild CLs. I believe he also stated that if these changes make it so he has no ability left to solo, that may push him out of the game (I paraphrase here, of course). I echo this sentiment as well.
You know its not even worth it to continue and argue at this point.
Too many people acting like wannabee devs hoping to get "in" and get some sort of acknowledgement from these red names.
Its a dead horse.
After its all said and done, the BE that makes the pet that I want is getting paid. Thats it. I dont care if its made with durmi dna. I dont care if its made with kahmurrith dna. I dont care if someones testicles were removed, digitized into game and converted into a dna template to make my pet.
If you get me what I want, youre gettin paid. If you dont, youre not getting paid, or mentioned to others. As far as Im concerned youdont exsist.I will find someone who can. This isnt me being a jerk. Thats how it is with every profession. Do you make good weapons, armor, Stims, Spices, Slices, Food? If you do, business is good. If you dont, business is bad.
Now who wants to get paid?
