. My girlfriend wanted a Jax so I bought one froma BE. It had some really high ham, but no damage whatsoever. Like 20. I thought it was weird, but I just figured that was what BEs did-they Made better animals. And it didnt do any damage, so i figured it was ok. Of course the pet was invalid.
I am just posting this because if you think most of your customers knew it was fishy and somehow deserved this-you are wrong. You are either very cynical or are trying to justify selling something YOU knew was fishy.
I am not gonna go for the BE for a refund. But I will buy another Jax from her. It is not her fault. Maybe she knew this was coming, maybe she didnt think anything was wrong. I am gonna give her the benefit of the doubt. Do the same for your customers.
i am a BE and have been trying to make creatures that had similar stats to what the GSP's used to have before the nerf. most of the levels were 20-35, a few had armor or special attacks. the few non-ch pets i've made had at most say 7khealth (not HAM, just H) and almost nothing else worth mentioning. i never really thought of any of them were overpowered. as a matter of fact, i kinda thought that the wild creatures were nerfed so that we could make pets that were much better then the wild versions and therefore create a market for an otherwise broken class.
Well, i haven't had any customers contact me with broken pet claims...if they did, i'm not sure what i'd do. I have the email record of everyone who bought one off of my vendor and i've only sold two face to face, so i'd have no problem remembering which customer bought which animal for what price. but i'm not sure if its fair to me. up until this morning I thoughtI had finally found a profession that suited me and was doing fairly well in it. as i said, my products were in no way overpowered in my opinion (even had a MCH helping me since the patch, we've even been using the old GSP as kind of a yardstick, all of our pets are measured against it). I guess if the customer still has the pet and really really wants their money back, i can take the pet and give them money for it. (as long as it knows transfer of course...even in RL they won't give you a refund if you don't give the merchandise back, damaged or not). maybe they'll fix this mess and i can resell them if i'm lucky.
I dunno, this is pretty weak from a Dev standpoint, more than anything. I only have one pet that when i created it was somewhat wierd, a CH level 9 Ikopi with crap stats and resists, but quite high health. How did I do it? I used piket longhorn DNA in physique and huurton pup DNA in the rest, it was made to try and find out some of the effects of experimentation. Now WHY is this pet invalid?Other pets i created useing standard Dantooine DNA, experimentation, and NO resampling. I was just testing theories. Of those maybe 20% turned out to be uncallable. How is a BE supposed to know what is/isnt callable? Why are these pets, using standard DNA, and standard proceduresall of a sudden invalid?
Luckily I didnt sell any pets, I was just trying to work out how the system works.I just leftall the pet spamin the guild to be trained by whoever got there first. If i had sold them, I would apologise, but not refund. In a game like this where nothing works, you buy with the knowledge that the odds are quite high SoE is going to nerf it in some fashion down the road, no matter what it is you bought.

ANOTHER CUSTOMERS VIEW:
Last Week, i wanted a NON-CH Brackset Mount. I have no ideas What / What is not possible.
I wanted A mount that could talk short times, so i got a Bracka from a BE, who told me "this is what
you wanted" - a CL9 Beast wih 5K Health, Rest 1-2K.
Now its disabled, and the BIO-E tells me, she has dropped the skill, and no refunds (paid 30K) because
she grinds something else now.
With the usual Notion, that SOE wont do anything, i destroyed it.
AND NOW?
Great, thats 33K in the Rubbishbin.
And No, i didnt know the Min/Max for Stats... I am non CH/BE.

I have no proof, if he is saying the truth. But I wouldn't be to surprised, to learn, that the devs screwed it completely up.
I won't refund anyone. I never sold pets with the bugged dna. I used picket and corellian butterfly dna for the non-ch pets. Its not my fault, that the Devs cant program a working cloning system. Besides, I have no idea, how I should find out, which persons bought pets in my shop, and to which prices.
I have a brain and I use it...I knew something was up and turned down lots of money from people dying to buy good pets from me because I knew I couldnt make em without "Exploiting the BUG" Yes I used the word EXPLOIT and BUG! You ALL knew it was...some of you didnt see past your own greed and accept it but you all knew!
You're missing the point. Many of us DIDN'T make what we considered exploit pets. I've never used any of the "bugged DNA"in the creation of my pets and there was no warning that the pets we were creating - AFTER A PATCH THAT SUPPOSEDLY IMPROVED BE PETS - were considered uber.
Secondly there's a hell of a difference between a pet that's "a bit better" than normal and one that's ridiculously off the scale. I've one pet I can't call now, yet the difference between its stats and one I CAN call (both of which were made at the same time, using the same types of DNA) is marginal.
So please, stop trying to brand us all as exploiters and/or idiots. And I take offence at you branding me a thief.

Read through the thread. Know what? All the buyers on this thread (auction) were given a good heads up before they actually placed their bids. There were a good number of threads warning potential buyers that these pets may indeed be bugged.
These buyers then made an well-informed decision to proceed with their bids.
Great. Now about those of us who don't read the boards very often. How bout my customers (I am a simple merchant) who rightly believed like I did that we had become early adopters of the new BE enhanced pets.
The only warning we could have had is the obvious tendency for SOE to nerf. Well how bout they nerf some of the wild things out there that keep trying to eat me when I go from harvester to harvester. How bout they nerf those evil guns that had 2 powerups built in. You can't make any more but the old ones were not 'invalidated' I have already notified my customers that they can apply to me for warrenty return on their defective merchandise. Perhaps the BE I bought them from can afford to refund me or maybe I get to eat another mult million credit 'feature' change. Wow I'd buy buisness insurance if there was any. Talk about a money sink.

To those of you saying that you didnt intentionally create UBER pets and sell them, LEt me say this...I was a BE for three weeks....Sold a Boatload of pets during that time...and you know what? NOT ONE of my pets is coming back to me for a complete refund! if any of my customers had come to me I would refund them back 150% of their purchase price AND give them a free replacement pet.
