if you want to type less into your macro, thus minimizing syntax errors, use the shortened commands.

you don't need to type /nextCraftingStage, just /next will work.
/selectDraftSchematic 12, can be shortened to /sel 12
/createPrototype practice no item = /createp practice no item

every macro i see posted uses the long version of each command. i personally think it's a waste of time and introduces more room for creating a syntax error that causes your macro to not work.

I used a similar macro, but more complex. Instead of just doing, say BEC's, i had 8 tools going and practiced the last two on stims c's. So i actually created 2 BECS, 2 CRMDS, 2 Liquids, and then practiced on the stim c's. i don't know if it was actually faster or not, but if anyone is interested in testing the two, i'd be interested in hearing the results.

Also, for those of you planning on mastering CM as well (dunno how many of you that is, but just in case), you can use the same macro for cm that you used for Doc, once you have mastered it or have reached the level that you want. Just an FYI.

I wanna say from start to finish in doctor or combat medic you need something like 30,000 wheat and and 30,000 fiber

(I think)

heh i no longer play SWG, my account runs out at the end of the month, but i think those were my old numbers.

It could be 15,000 of each for doc and 15,000 of each for CM i cant remember.

long live Horizons!

hehe good luck crafting

Ok here is a quetion. My data schematic i need is numbered above 100,k but if i put in anything about 99 (two digit number) i get the last item in my data schematic folder. how do i choose the correct data schematic?

Try using a generic crafting tool first. That will drop all the schematics off your list that require a specific tool. If you need to make a tool-specific item, then try checking it while away from a crafting station. That too will drop any schematics that require a station to craft.

IF that doesn't work... pick a lower numbered schematic and grind that. You're just grinding, after all, right?

If i am too dumb/poor/lazy to get all the specific components to get Advanced BEC's, should i just make regular ones?

I grinded (ground?) all the way to master doctor onbasic BECs. Sure, it took longer but the generic resources are super-easy to get.

I had an interesting error happen... first off here is the macro I'm using.

/ui action toolbarSlot00

/selectDraftSchematic 00

/Pause 4

/nextCraftingStage

/nextCraftingStage

/nextCraftingStage

/createPrototype practice no item

/createPrototype practice no item

I got an "Error: No Manufacture Schematic" when I ran the macro for the first time... but the picture and info for the ABEC was there when it was time to click on the resources... just like when Icraft the hard way. I have a schematic for the ABEC in my DataPad and all I was hoping to do the first time I booted up the macro was to experiment with finding which number to plug in for line 2 (DraftSchematic).

Anyone help me out? This is my first macro.

More info... I get the error message (screen goes dim, whole nine yards) only when I click on the resources during the macro. If I let it run without clicking on the resources, it just ends.

Nevermind, I figured it out... I cannot run the macro anywhere near a crafting station, even with the extra "/nextCraftingStage" line put in there.

Nothing to see here, move along...

Sorry for the newbie question here but what is the sense of doing the session as a practice? It uses up the resources and you get exp only? Do you get more exp than if you didn't do a practice.

Please help me on this. Crafting is the only line I have left on my doc trade and I totally dread it. Any help would be great.

Thanks

You do get a bit more xp, tho not much... [a few points for low resource items like med subs]. The biggest advantage is that it doesn't eat up your inventory space. Crafting XP works based on how much resources the item takes [2x to be exact]. ABEC takes 36 resources, so you get 72 xp for each one created in non-practice. I don't know exact for practice, but it's probably 75 xp per, and it doesn't take up space.

Now, there seems to be some confusion on how /selectDraftSchematic XX works... the XX is the number of the schematic, true, but it's not out of all your schematics in your datapad. It's out of how many that tool can display. Example: A DE/Doc runs the macro with droid tools, with 80 as the XX, the schematic is some droid part. Then he runs that exact same macro with 80 as the XX but with food/chem tools and it will pull up a different schematic. This is why you might have 1000 items in your datapad, but over 100 on a generic tool always gives you the same item [being the last available with the generic tool].

And now a question. In the macros... everyone is typing "practice"... has this been fixed? It used to be "practise" and that misspelling still works in my crafting macro, where "practice" used to not work. *shrug*

And lastly, someone asked how many ABECs for the whole doc tree, breaks down like this:
Total Medical Crafting for Doc: 96000
XP per ABEC w/o Practice: 72
Total ABECs to create, assuming no failures: 1334
Total Lok. Wild Wheat needed: 24012
Total Tat. Fiberplat needed: 24012

Now, we all know how futile it is to assume that you will get no failures, so it's always best to shoot high, hence why I use the w/o practice xp... makes the resources needed a higher number, a cusion if you will. But even so, you want to go farther than that probably, I'd start with 25k and see how that works out. You can always get more of course.

*cracks knuckles* Whew, I hate writing long posts...

my calculations may be wrong, but i think crafting regular bec's is better than advanced.

advanced = 84 xp for 36 resources - 2.3 xp per resource

bec's= 36 xp for 12 resources - 3 xp per resource

keep in mind this was in practice mode (10% bonus)

i was actually using lww and tfp for both, and as i have 100k's worth of these two resources (i anticipated a doc/cm holo), im mostly interested in xp per unit, and not at all concerned with resource price/availability. if someone can refute this, please do so...i'd like to get the most xp for my troubles.
