I find them west of the Imperial outpost, but more commonly in the lesser traveled area south of the abandonded Rebel base. The hilly spots between the plains and the mountains are what to stick to.

Easiest thing to do is just hire a ranger to track one down for you. Why waste your time hunting something down? Just hire someone else, who will have a better success rate than you. That's what I do. Saves me time. And time = money.

In my experience, hiring a ranger would cost much more than the time you would spend finding a creature.
Its all about money - if they can do 2 missions in half an hour on an advanced planet they could make around 20k + 10-100k on the resources they harvest (depending on quality) and thats how all the rangers I know price their services - for that kind of money its just not worth it - especially as they're not much better at finding things than we are tbh.

I've been out with a Ranger once, he was a friend so he was doing me a favour - we went looking for merek harvesters on Endor, we were out for over an hour and in the end it was me that found them not him.
They can only find things in their range - its not like he could go to the mining outpost and find you a graul from there, you would have to search a large area before you even picked one up.

1) Regarding FG's on Bria. I hadn't seen them in about a month, but strangely enough in the past week I think maybe something has changed because spawn of all things seem to have increased (wohoo!!!). I went out looking for FG the other day and found a few within 10min of looking. I also saw several other types of Grauls just in the past few days. And lots of other cool stuff too. Faambas, BMB Queens, and so many Mutant Rancors I couldn't believe it (three separate lairs withing 500m of each other) and lots of other good stuff that over the past few months have been very difficult to find. 12 MR samples in one night if you can believe it!

2) Regarding rangers. My alt is one, yes, their tracking ability is occasionally useful, but less useful then you might think. Their radius for tracking is so small and so buggy that more often then not they miss stuff. The best bet for finding something specific is knowing the general area in which they have been known to spawn, and then travelling over that area in some systematic way on a speeder. You'll almost always find something faster that way then simply trying to rely on ranger tracking ability.

"Sounds like you need to find better Rangers. "

I used to bea MCH, MBE, Master Scout and 0030 Ranger, now I'm a 0300 ranger. I don't find tracking to be very useful at all, in fact, its usefulness is so limited that I gave up the tracking a picked up camps so I can make the nice Ranger camps.

The most effective way I've found to quickly scan an area for creatures is to set your compass on 256m and look for yellow square boxes (creature nests) then I zoom over and wait a few seconds to see what spawns around the nest. Obviously this doesn't pick up non-nest spawning creatures (mutant rancors for example) but it works well enough for me to justify giving up tracking for camping.

I heard somewhere that some multi-planet animals spawn more babies on specific planets. Is it so that frenzied grauls spawnend more babies on dathomir than dantooine before they where removed?
If that is the case I think I know why the devs think the frenzied graul still exists, maybe they made it's spawn about as rare as a bull rancor (the stats on a frenzied graul are awesome so I can imagine that). Now I don't know how the rareness on specific planets work but what if it spawns only 10% of the babies on dantooine compaired to dathomir? Yep, it would be uber frikin rare and nobody would have seen one yet. If the devs checked they would probably only see it spawns as often as a bull rancor, not the planet spawning decrease. Could this be what bugging the frenzied graul?

grauls haven't existed in generalon dathomir in almost a year, so i don't see how that could apply.

I always though these were extinct yet i bumped into a few today and noticed a big YES beside tamable? I also looked on swgcreatures, more than a little excited and they show up as a ?. One of the last few comments said that they were tamable but there has not been a sighting in 7-8 months. I'm hoping someone here will see this and clear this up? I'd rather spend all my waking hours after a frenzied graul then a bull rancor

Yes and we were promised that they do spawn babies and yet no one...not a single one has been seen by a credible witness.
