(...)its more than just the health award.... you take damage according to your level relative to the attacker's level. since BE won't be very high level, most mid-level to high mobs will be doing HUGE damage to you... regardless of buffs, armor or anything else.

Exactly that is why the AS are up in arms up to the point their correspondent got dismissed - their products are being rendered useless except for PvP.
With the effect of buffs being set off by the damage multiplier the creature gets about 2 or 3 levels above one, I dont see a big market there, also.
Furthermore, WS havent noticed, but if I can kill a same-level and one-level-above mob with an average weapon, but one two levels above me kills me anyhow because I cant shoot often enough before my health reaches 0, why would I spend the money for a great weapon?

This new level system is evil - on the current live servers, the level system gives one an idea of how the fight might go based on the abilities and equipment of the player and the creature, on TC-Ep3 the level determines the abilities and equipment benefit of the player and the creature.

A former multi-layered system where one could mix and match abilities to choose the best combination for himself gets wasted for a system of pure box grinding. Having any box is good as long as it gives a higher combat level, not because it grants a great special.

The above highlighted portion is the best review I have seen about the CU.

Well I just logged on before server shutdown and now the first line takes medical crafting instead of BE crafting? I have 50,000+ BE crafting but looks like that doesn't count for first line anymore. (other three lines done)

Armorsmith, weaponsmith, tailor, artisan and a couple other crafting profession boxes _DO NOT_ grant more health or a combat level increase. This is 100% verified. If a Tailor has a higher level than you, it is because of the combat professions whose title he chose not to display.

The pet conversion stuff I would say is an issue. If it has armor, you have request that they modify the stats, thus factoring out the BE part of the pet. Now even if it doesn't have armor (I made a number of 60 kin/ener to prepare), I'm not sure we wanna keep the stats. I did levels for one of these guys and even tho the damage seems to be better, the resists might be a problem. They stay the same (below 100), whereas the resists of converted pets by stats have like over 1100 resists. Also the "to hit" is a bit strange. We have .45 whereas the converted pets have 80 or 120 at the to hit. So it'd be really nice if some dev could give us more info on what these effects are doing...

As a long term Be i have to totally agree with the statement suggesting a name change for our profession, As of Cu we have become nothing but glorified pharmacists. The Master Be Tag just means that we can make all the additives for chefs and the meds for doctors as far as animal experimentation goes we are an utterly useless profession , the pets we can make are a total waste of time for any ch to use , my other character is a master Ch/ Master rifleman and my wife's is a master fencer/master Ch and both of us lost our best pets due to the stat/level conversion process anything armored converted level wise to well over 150 and when converting stats became average pets at best her lev 65 pet and her at combat level 80 were hard pressed to defeat lev 50 kimas and they were fighting one at a time.....in past days this would not have been challenging and as Talus is a starter planet to any master combat profession should not be challenging thats why we always chose to hunt endor or dath or dant now those are sure death for hers and my pets now.....as master ch's we can tame other pets but even that is screwed up if you find a lair that is level 70 and it has a baby that is not a guarantee that the baby will grow to that level she tamed the offspring that spawned at a lev 70 lair and its max level was 15 at full maturity. We both discussed the game in great length and with our ch characters and my be character we have decided to suspend all three accounts until and if the game is changed to make it so that these professions are fun once again. We have played from launch and never left the game even when ch was nerfed so long ago , we remained but with the present changes and the fact that you can heal a pet only once per minute and the pets have been weakened to this degree it to us has become unplayable, we are ch's because we like to travel to different planets and be able to survive and keep our pets alive, to play now we both know we would be limited to starter planets. anyways i have gone on long enough but it upsets me to have to stop playing a game i have played for so long and enjoyed so much i hope things change i will miss my long days on dath trying to make that uber pet from the past........

Not all, but many of the "uber" CL10 animals are still valid and work very well after the CURB. Also the pre-patch 1/0 blurrgs are still 1/0 blurrgs. I can call a pre-patch blurrg with a CL35BE razor cat. This puts the total combined CL at 85, which is over the CL70 cap.

Some things never change...

- Fix Pet Crafting

- Fix Pet Crafting

- Make Master Bio Engineer not worthless ... put some Med Experimentation or Schematics in it... as it stands now, you can be a fully functional Bio Engineer with x4x4 because of the borked pet crafting

This is a bug, but something I can't verify personally but have heard about.

Krayt Dragons are now (individually) level 70. Which means we should be able to sample them.

Does anyone know this is confirmed, and if so, what does it mean?

Oh, and I forgot this the first time I posted. Am I the only one that is somewhat annoyed that ALL of my preCU Pet stims are now worthless? All the time and effort I put into creating Pet-Stim Ds, to include obtaining resource deeds, has all gone for "strength 0" pet stims.

Even my As are 0. And I have crates of them. (At least the weapons I had converted over to something useful, even if I can't use them.)

Gypsia d'Catman - Tough Chick with a Flamethrower
Catman Dewback - Famed Trando ex-band leader of the Wookettes
Felis Con'Colori - Bothan Spy back before there was a "Spy"
Larrana Darkewave - A Silent Dancer

All dead as of 11/30/05. We tried. Gysia's flamethrower blew up. Catman was arrested for trumped up charges of slavery. Felis grew cold in the grip of Darth SOE. Larrana finally swallowed her NDA and choked.

I haven't seem them to confirm this, but it actually does make some sense to me. Here's why...

When you group, the group takes the level of the highest member of the group, that's 80 right? And damage (and I believe accuracy) are very strongly influenced by combat level. So a big problem during alpha was that 8 level 80characters would group together (max level, max group size) and they'd fight something like a krayt, which would be level 100+, and they'd get stomped. No chance at all against it. Which means that no group could ever kill one (pretty much). So making things like krayts say level 85 or less seems like an enevitable outcome of the level-based combat system they've implemented. To me it's a real shame though that a humbaba and a krayt can have the same combat level Something definitely was lost there.

I've sampled the juveniles. I actually made a CL10 out of it with huurton DNA.

It was in the 'known issues': Krayt dragons are spawning at the wrong levels. It takes about 3 minutes to kill one now with a small group of players. I'm sure they will fix it since this seems to be the creature they care the MOST about on all the planets.

PetStim - annoyance: /agree
