Ok,so Ive been away from CH for a while and Im reclimbing the profession on my way to master. I just ran into a problem that I wasnt even thinking about. The hungry pet message. I did a Rancor run a couple of days ago and got that message for the first time in a long, long time. Here is my problem and the reason for my post. The last time I was a CH the pet food of choice was Bofa Treats . I spent a good bit of time tonight looking for them again and had no luck. Have they been replaced since the Chef revamp? If so, what is the current food of choice for pets? Thanks for any help you can give me on this.

If you're a CH you have foraging. What I use, works great, costs nothing, really only good use of that skill that I've found so far.

I totally forgot foraging. Thanks for the reminder. You would think a retired Master Ranger wouldn't forget something like that.

Ahh, so very true...though I got it at novice...well, can't blame me...learned it a year ago and never looked back.

I still have lots of bofa treats. Easy for artisan to make and I used a factory Exo-protein wafers too. I still have several crates for feeding hungery pets. As to forraging I don't want to stop in the middle of a hunt to forrage till I get food for the cat and forraged items do not stack so crates of food are much more efficent with space and time.

Pets aren't picky. They'll eat anything.

Be sure to keep 'em away from your spice, tho.

Bofa treats work just fine. It doesnt matter what you feed them they will always get the same heals and such

Keep your uncrated good food in your backpack, and put it on your toolbar for quick access. Food for pets stays in primary inventory. When you feed a pet, they eat the first food they come to in main inventory.

Well, it depends on what you're looking for.

If they're complaining about being "hungry" (they've sustained health/action wounds) then anything will work. Bofa treats, spices, or even foraged items. Just make sure that there's nothing you want to keep for yourself in your main inventory when you do the "feed" command. They also seem to heal up while stored in your datapad.

There are also a few pet buff foods.

  • Blap Biscuits: +1000ish Health for 45ish minutes

  • Pastebread: +1200ish action for 45ish minuts

  • Felbar: +1500ish Mind for 45ish minutes

  • Sweesonberry rolls: +1000ish Health/Action/Mind for 45ish minutes.

These four foods are in the chef Dessert branch, so you can't make them as an artisan.

These don't trigger from the "Feed" option, you have to actually click and drag the food from your inventory to the pet. Also, you can only buff your pet once every 60m, so you can't stack them(although once the buff wears off, you can "reset" your pet by storing / calling it).
