Thread: Factory bug

Worst I've ever had was factory ate resources for one additional weapon when my components ran out.
If you put excess resources in a factory this will happen every single time, and here's why.
When you put a schematic in a factory, pull up the "List Ingredients" option off of your radial menu. From top to bottom, that is the order that a factory will use resources or take components. 99.9% of the time, the resources are all listed first. So your schematic will make (for example) the first 99 T-21 rifles using up all of the components. It goes to make the 100th one, uses the resources, then starts looking for components and can't find them. At that point it will shut down, but not before.
To save resources, pull out your calculator and put in EXACTLY as much as you need to use up the components you have loaded and you won't have this problem.

Not sure if this has been posted before, but here is what happened. Wondering if anyone else ran into this.
I put enough crates of parts in my factory for 50 T21's, it appears I didn't put enough polonium iron as there is a stack of 18 left in my factory input hopper. The output was 33 rifles (missing 17), and all the stocks, barrels and power handlers are used up. It looks like it just kept eating parts even though it ran out of the polonium until all theparts were gone also.
Has this happened to anyone else?
I have heard reports of this before. Try this: put the polonium in your factory and turn it on. I've heard at least one report of someone who had this problem and for some reason instead of shutting down, the factory ate up all the parts and other resources. When he went back in and added the resources he was missing, the completed items came out of the factory.
Give it a shot. Can't hurt.
There I can't help you. I've no idea WHY the devs have it set up this way. I just know that it is so.

Is there a special reason why he first tries to produce an item and then checks if the output hopper is "full"? (Full means here a random value where SWG THINKS the factory is full)
Which results in eating up resources for another item produced without an actual outcome and an "Internal Manufacturing Error" mail.
Pretty annoying to go through all resource stacks again to get resources for another single item ...

Oh well, thought it might have been just me doing something wrong.

Wish I could but my 100k stacks of that resource are no where to be found. I believe I have checked everywhere but am sure they are not in any of my houses, vendor, factories, droids, or bank. I do have an alt I need to check the bank on but I had no reason to have polonium on that guy.
