Thread: I NEED SOME ADVICE
If you are into pvp....I would think the best you could do is master brawler and master swordsman with a shirt that has + to warcry and\or intimidate (a shirt because you can wear it under armor if you so choose). Here is why:
-warcry2 lasts for 20 seconds....how long does the average PvP fight last anyhow?
-master brawler 2h KD...do this after a successful warcry...and land a good headhit...fight over...next victum
while state defenses are nice....it is better to keep your opponent from even attacking you (imho). This is my planned template anyhow and so far it works extremely well without needing to dabble in some other profession. Dabbling is good...dont get me wrong..but it certainly seems as if the changes that have been going in lately to keep things from stacking (defense stacking...bleed stacking..etc..) seem to go against what I thought a skill based system was all about (you can dabble all you want to get what works for you). Master brawler doenst stack, but adds to MHS and I am not even a master yet and I am extremely effective in PvP and PvE. So far my move is warcry2 until it sticks + 2hlung2 (KD) + and head hit at my leisure. They will be down for at least 15 seconds...which is more then enough time to take any one out.
Pikeman has a direct KD and indirect KD plus dizzy, Swordsman has no direct way of landing KD without master brawler. Swordsman you also see a gradual increase in power as you go up the profession. Pikeman is staggered, the power isn't apparent until you reach 4xx4 and higher. Aside that they're more or less essentially the same. The swordsman is obviously much better geared to PvP killing than pikeman cause it targets the mind.
The other thing you want to consider is which damage type is more useful to you blast or electricity? NOTE there tend to be a few more things reistant to Blast than Electricity.
Swordsmen have more and better AP2 weapons, and headhit3 is a very efficient way to kill just about anything. They can't heal themselves if you wipe out their minds. Since it's difficult to get a knockdown, dizzy, or stun landed on the high-level nightsisters anyway, it mostly comes down to efficiency of damage, and swordsmen have the upper hand there. Plus they can actually damage elders and Axkva, unlike pikemen.
Generally, though, swordsmen should usually stick to a smaller scale fight where they can focus one or two enemies. Pikemen have a slight upper hand in area attacks.
