I experiment on ease of use until potency is above 95 to reduce resists. I usually then dump everything else into effectiveness to increase damage. Some CMs put some in charges to increase range though.

im very new to bio engineer, havent had any kind of crafting profession before, i dont understand experimenting, how do you experiment?

You must be near a food and chemical crafting station to experiment. If you are not near one you won't get the experiment option. Some items require a personal crafting station to even start the crafting process. You should buy a crafting station or a droid with a crafting station in it (or both).


If you click on the experiment option during the crafting process a window will open. You will see various bars made up of small boxes. On the left is the number of experiment points you have. On the right is a graphic that shows the possibility of failure (I ignore that to be honest). When experimenting on tissues I recommend using all your points at one time. When experimenting on animals I recommend placing one point at a time. Place a point and click experiment. Place another point and experiment again. Do this until all your points are gone or you're satisfied with the product.


Experiment and make notes of the out come. You'll get the hang of it in no time.

I don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but I can't experiment when Im in front of a Clothing and Armor Crafting Station. I have tried to solve this problem many times, but nothing seems to works. Can someone tell me if any others are having this problem? Thanks

are you using the clothing and Armor Crafting Tool?


Have you selected the crafting station ?


As you have to do both for experimentation become available.

LOL.... ok here is what you do. you dont do anything with the crafting station. what you do is while your standing next to it. you go to your inventory and locate your crafting tool for lets say weapons. open that crafting tool and create what ever you normally do. you will get a sepcial message come up only when yourstandind next to the weapons crafting stations. this message will be to experimate. click that and follow the instrustions. its that simple. now if you want to work with armor. you need a armor crafting tool and stand next to a aromor crafting station while your useing the tool the same way as i explained above.


i will repeat you do not need to click on the crafting station for anything just use your tools next to the correct stations for what you are building. and remember that the general crafting tool does not work with the stations. yuou need the right tool for each station.

Here's one more point. Are you making Clothes or Armor. AFIK Clothing has no experimention any longer. For Armor there still is though.

Never had to select the crafting station, but maybe that could help, when you are to near to another type of station (crafting tool selects the nearest staion on it's own, not the right one).

you dont need to select or do anything except stand next to the public crafting station. its proximity activated. and you need to have a specialized tool open. not the generic one. for you to be able to experiment on harvesters, you need a specialized structure crafting tool and be next to the structure crafting station. this is clearly stated in the manual.

I was wondering the same thing..

So, there is no quality with clothes then??

Also, will the experimentation be coming back anytime soon?? Or totally done with??

Why bother posting the same info as me in half you post and then spend the other half of your post telling someone not to do something I advised (which takes less than a second to do).????
