That's a very interesting request. I'd be really tempted to do that even though custom orders aren't my thing any more.

Oh, and if thats an odd request, I just got an email for a pet with Blast and Stun resists...
I asked if he wanted kinetic too, just to be safe, he said no, I want the blast and stun resists. So, I guess it's off to swgcreatures.com for me

If anything, this thread has shown me not to take special orders unless you get an email out of the customer

Here I was thinking I'm the only one dealing with whackos lol

I'm quite recently an MBE and I got into it to make pets, though tissues will probably keep me in beer and skittles...

Hehe, this all reminds me of why I stopped playing my MBE on Naritus. No patience for morons

LOL, it must be something about the Naritus server.

Lemy,
I for one was sorry to see you retire. Way back when I was still a low level novice your advice kept me in the BE business. If it hadn't been for you I'd have a basement full of coffee pots holding green powder.

Lemy! There's a name I thought I'd never see again. I think Buboo and I are the only two old-timer BE's left on Naritus. If you still have an account, it might be worth giving BE a try again... you'll find annoying customers no matter what crafting profession you are, but being a BE is much more personal satisfaction than it used to be.

Oct, Buboo, good to see you guys still going strong.
After I quit my BE, I played a BH with some rl buddies on Flurry for awhile. I quit eventually, but came back for the free trial and got re-hooked. Started the holo-grind, and was told to master Fencer. Ended up absolutely loving it, and may just give up the holo thing and stick with that. My buddies still play there, so we have fun.
I have been considering giving BE another try. I think I might findfiguring outthe new cloning system satisfying. I did log in Lemy for a bit just to take inventory of what he had. Found my guild had disbanded, lol. I have no immediate plans to dive back into it, but don't be suprised if I show up again.

When it comes to skin, people always ask for the same thing, gurreck, razor cat, rancor or kimo. colour usually dark to black or red. SSDD
When I clone, I almost exclusively place cats, spiders, rancors and kimos on my vendor. Occasionally I'll clone a high-level hell durni, as we have a couple of MCH on Kettemoor who enjoy the understated pets.
But you're right, these are the clones people seem to want most. Rancors and kimos just look impressive, and cats can keep up with speeders.

I do custom orders, and for two reasons,
1) I enjoy the challenge, honestly I do..Fitting those stats into a pet, within a CL, is big fun for me. It takes up a lot of my time, but hey, I've got not much else to do...(Well, actually I do..and I reckon my PA leader's getting a bit miffed at me, or will be soon..)
2) I have no merchant/artisan skills, and thus no vendor.
I use a customised template and send it to anyone who asks me to make a pet for him/her. I have a little disclaimer at the bottom that tells them to keep it realistic. I then return the mail and tell them the modifications/possibilities/improvements or customisations I have to make for them, in order for it to safely fit within their CL marginsand my ability.

I only do the pet if I get the mail. If not, I'll "forget" the order. Which I do I guess, with all the things I have to do to earn my pints in this game..
I mostly ignore CL10 pet request, because I usually don't have the time to do them, or, they're kids (no offense to the kids...but..some are really really bratty)who want CL10 Kimos. I turn them over to a fellow BE ( I'm so sorry for all the pain and anguish...) I know who specialises in these cookie cutter lvl 10 templates.
You can do custom orders I guess, and not charge ridiculously high prices for them. Just probably what you thought your time in doing that pet is worth to you.
As for customers who don't want to buy their pets, or ignore my tells and emails, I usually just send them 2 emails, or 3, if I'm generous, within the span of 1-2 weeks, and if still no go, on the sale, I just sell it independantly. Of course I b*itch like crazy on the guild channel when it happens, but..heh...that's for the poor ears of my guildmates.
In short, lotsa "idiots" out there..but for some,I don't really blame them. I try to be as polite as possible, because heck, documentation toeven usBE's, and to the public is so scratchy. But if making pets and the challenge of squeezing something you thought impossible before into a lower CL (legally of course..) is your thing... Custom orders can be a lot of fun...
