Another reason people might end up buying more stims is that the patch will make them spend more skill credits to control the same level of critter they were controlling before the patch.
In order to scrounge up those skill credits, they might give up medic and start relying on pet stims instead of general stim-B/C's.

This may or may not be true. Giving up medic hurts two ways. Not only do you have to buy pet meds but you can't heal yourself in the field anymore. A creature handler, or any professional with novice medic can make their own stims. Even if they don't heal a lot of damage per charge they are still cheaper and easier to come by plus you can heal yourself and your pet without taking up more inventory space.
If it comes to skill points as I see this happening, people will give up creature handler and apply those point to combat skills. The pet of choice could just as easilyend up being a droid.
A lot of medics wouldn't mind making pets = petstim only.. Since we don't get XP from healing them, a lot of people don't.. But a lot of group-mates badger healers into healing pets anyway.

Medics used to get experience for healing pets but it was removed. People were grinding master medic and doctorin no time byhealing high HAM pets over and over. It was decided that was an exploit.
Now people go out in their underwear and get beat up so they can clone and let their buddies heal them over and over again. Personally I don't see the difference.
