This is myexperience today with crafting a bunch of armor segments:

You all can take this for what its worth. Please don't remind this isn't a conclusive study, I know its not. Its just a *BRIEF* experiment I did with a few isolated variables. Yes, I know random numbers are streaky, I don't need to be reminded of that either.

I started out just as a test making armorweave armor segments. Each segment takes 17 metal. I used above average materials, most of the stats being in the 700-900 range, and using a 14.94 tool in a research city with a average crafting station. (+24) The character I used to make these segments was a master armorsmith.

The results were amazing, stunning. In 30 attempts, using the 14.95 toolI had 6 outright critical fails, and 12 fails on experiments. Pretty much myfailure rate was about 50%.

Then I made 30 more segments using an ultra craptacular tool that was -14.94. In 30 attempts I had 1 critical fail, and 9 failures during experiment. Myfailure rate was about 30%.

Then I made 30 more segments using a tool that was experimented on just enough to break even at a .98. I had 1 critical fail and 2 failures during experiment. Myfailurerate was about 5%.

It would be interesting to see other people repeat this experiment and see if their results are similar. Try to use the exact same materials, exact same crafting station and just make yourself or buy 3 crafting tools. A really good one, a really bad one and one in between.

Casual observationsover the months has seriously lead me to believe that high end crafting tools are bugged somehow.

After spending a couple of days on Endor getting DNA, and in the end only getting 2 semi-okay CL20 creatures out of it (since every DNA sample I had with AR1 went down the drain)....

It's been like this for a few days now! If I don't fail on experimentation, I'm crit failing combines! Heck, I'm even failing sampling my fubar'd clones and having them poof without leaving me anything! And this is using all the right equipment in a research city with no BF or wounds.

Frustrated!

What i would suggest is every time you start crafting those pets have a pen and paper handy and write down all those crit fails in groups.

ie DNA sample template combine xx combineyy fails

experimentation points xx combineyy fails

Creature combine xx combineyy fails

xx the total amount of combine made yybeing the amount of fails you have got.

At the end of EVERY session tot up the amount of crit fails, percentage it to,/bug it and send in the details youve jotted down. If every bio eng just reading these boards did it I think they would get the message. Tell your Bio Eng friends to do the same and they might take some notice.

Petitions on the board rarely get looked at or acted on.
