That's a known bug. I believe all of the scatter shot like specials in other professions did the same thing at one time or another.

The combat spam is borked for Scatter Shot. It will always read 1 point of damage.

You need to watch the floating numbers.

So it's working 99%. The only 100% working specials are Crippling shot and Burst 1.

Sweet!! So I'm pwning those marooned pirates!! This leads me to the next question. Is this error in the combat log going to affect my XP?

Kill some of those pirates for me.

I never noticed it to affect my xp at all even when i hunted in groups and used the shot.

By the way, Thanks for being one of the the very few people out there to read the sticky first. I give you major props for that and have fun killing some pirates.

The number on the combat screen is just wrong with scattershot1 and 2. Watch the number over the targets head instead.

It really is a very minor bug.I can ask the Devs to fix issues like this, but I prefer to keep feeding them the bugs on specials that don't work properly. Scattershot atleast works...just with a minor display bug.

Once we get the major bugs fixed, we can get stuff like this fixed.

I think it's also ok to go 0022 for the first 10k of experience, but then when you level past 2, you need to go back and get 0444.

As a previous poster said...go 0/4/4/4. My marks would kill me before I leveled up my weapons. Once I did that marks were easy as pie.

actually 0-0-0-3 should be suffiicient. Going up the LLC tree is insanely easy. You need to have good armor. Ill never forget my first mission, I was still using my high kinetic Ubese having just qualified for master scout. I took a bounty pulled up on my bike dismounted and clicked on lightening single. On that click it told me I couldnt do lightening single when incapacitated.

I checked the combat window as I was being DBed and saw the mark had hit me for two stopping shots. I laughed my ass off all the way through the cloning process and then grabbed my high resist composite. Havent looked back since.

I did novice BH missons from novice. I did however have some CH and a line in the pistoleer tree so I had better than average speicals to work with. Marks give great xp so it was a fun way to gain some llc experience. With a level 22 pet may novice marks were cake. I could lay prone and pick my weapon and open up. If I did'nt use a pet, the marks become much harder. I often used bleeds from my pistol line and I'd open up with my llc if I could get some shots off. I'd often have to run out of range and heal a few times. I did die twice to TKA marks who could incap and death blow in one shot with no buffs and foods etc. As long as you examine your make to see which weapons they are weak too, I mostly did okay. Even using a lowly carbine I could do some damage.

If you just want ease then go with 0 4 4 4

You need more weapon skill. Work up your weapon linesbefore doing Investigation. It will make the missions a lot more fun (unless you want the challenge of taking on high level marks with very few specials). Right now all you have to work with are low level bleeds, making your marks very difficult to kill without a lot of bleed and run tactics.

I went ahead and did 0/4/4/4 before i even started my investigation. after that, i did not lose a single encounter with a mark. I'd sugest you work to at least the 4th box in carbines before trying to do those missions. the rest is gravy
