I'd be tempted to run a semi AFK macro to collect the meat.
Clear your inventory, stick a harvesting tool in your toolbar and have the macro use it every few seconds. All you would have to do is check on it every few mins and stick all the meat into your backpack to auto stack it up.
Since it still counts as animal food it could be used in a fair few things.
