I did SL as a holo profession by doing enraged Rancor mission on Dathomir and Grand Maulers on Dantooine with my city build to get xp fast. The 500K xp cap made it takes several hunting trips. As soon as SL was mastered it was dropped as I see no real benefit to being a SL. I think the SL profession is a huge waste of time and effort. Enough said.

I am trying this route as well at the moment, but it is proving hard to get a group together as most of my guild are crafters (handy for equipment though 
)
I am not too worried though, as I am not particularly doing this prof for the hologrind, I was just curious to see what it could do.
One thing that has made me chuckle was thay I remembered a guild mate saying fort tusken was good for SL xp, so I went over there a couple of days ago to check it out. Of the10 or12 people there,4 or5 were novice squad leaders /shouting for people to group with them so they could get xp.

Hmm, fastest way? This profession goes FAST ...WHEN you get a group going. Once you do, go to dath for rancor hunts...go to the Geo caves. I led a group of 20 to the Geo caves to finish my 'ladder climb.' The part about getting trained being the slowdown, 'bottleneck,' point is true. I kid you not I was receiving 36k to 48k SL xp PER kill in the Geo caves. I once saw 52k and change. UN-believable.

I think im going to be sick. Iv'e been at it 2 days im4 boxs in. I cant get a group over 4 or 5 and they all are low lev and im doing all the work. All great advice i just think i have some bad luck thing going on. I just wish my guild wasn't a ghost town right now.
