When its on testcenter its interesting, before i must say the Devs talk much and do not much for BEs.

When? My guess not until mid-Jan., 6-7 weeks from now. You got Thanksgiving this week, then Christmas holidays a few weeks later, and at least 2 weeks on Test Center beforeupdate goes live.

Ok, I wam unclear on the terms used. You said it will be published basically now. What does that mean? Does that mean that is is ready to go to the test server?

Can I get a date, when I might see these changes live for myself?

BTW, how bubbly all of these people that I have never seen before. Warms the heart.

I will be bubbly when I see it, can use it and will have few enough bugs in it that it is usable. I will also get bubbly when CH's start respecting my pets instead of laughing at them. Unfortunately, I am one of those CH's. I am selling 2 GSP's now. Can't beat em, join em.

I'm going out to sample Rancors! I may be gone for some time

May I remind you that the dna and dna qualityis now what determines the CL rating of the animals, if you sample from Rancor then you're not going to be able to produce CL10 critters if you use nothing but Rancor dna. That isn't assumption, thats a fact according to what the designer has said. In the end it won't bea case of always sampling from the most powerful creatures, but a case of sampling from the full spectrum of animals to make certain clones.

Plus if special attacks are indeed based off of the dna of certain animals then Rancor dna will never give you disease or poison attacks which I do think will become most popular if this system does actually show up in 3 weeks.

No no talth, your respect going up a notch wasn't due to the cloning changes ... Keld will get his due if they go live....

Your respect going upwas for the "Jerk" quote ... Unless that was from Keld too ....

I don't know about disease. Creature diseases are comparitavely weak they just last a long time. Poison I'd guess will be popular even though, again, strong poison is only about 100 a tick or so. For PVP I'd guess knockdown and dizzy will also be popular.

Creature diseases? Weak? I think you need to head back to Endor soon and get into a fight with a Toxic merek or a mantirgue screecher, remember that in a recent patch they increased the power for poison and disease attacks plus they made them more common. Disease will be more common in my opinion since it cannot be healed easily so it'll be valuable in PvP, poison will be a better solution in PvE though.

Oh and there seems to be a new poison type that sliced the pool it's effecting by 50% each time. I noticed this when I was suffering more damage by healing up rather than letting it wear be down. Thankfully poisons don't kill but it was worrying sitting in my camp with Arachne Queens all around me with 1 point for health for around 5 mins.

I think that most of us don't have the time or desire to grind up to Master BE on TC before this patch goes live. We HAVE to work with the devs to find a way to get the BE part of this patch tested. If they're going to be giving away vehicles to people to test them, they should do something similar for BEs. If they can't increase the number ofmaster BEs on TC, this patch could kill us. No offense Tal, but you can't test everything.

TH mentioned that he'll be working with correspondants over the coming weeks and that a correspondant I being told to select 18 regulars from their profession forum to meet with TH to discuss things with the profession to help establish what needs attention and get general feedback on things. I dunno if this means giving those 18 people a mastery in that profession but frankly i don't see there is any other way for TH to sit down and see how the profession works without the people helpping having masteries.

I still think characters with legacy code, like exist on live servers, ought to be a part of testing on TC.

On the other hand, I also think that the skill up process needs to get tested. (Everyone say it with me...Shaman Alchemy in EQ.) So I will amend my previous statement that I won't ever grind thru BE again...if someone were to hand me the Lokian Wild Wheat and Tatooine Fiberplast to grind thru Org Chem, the meat and flora to grind thru BE, and some kind of incentive to actually waste my time on TC, I'll do it. And no, I won't play on TC out of the kindness of my heart. I don't have any kindness in my heart for SOE. I had precious little after my EQ experiences, and my SWG experiences have eaten away at whatever was left. If they want to charge me for a subscription, I'm not going to beta test (any more than I am by playing on a 'live' server.) That's what they (as a total organization) get for pushing out a product before it was ready. I, as a consumer, don't care why.

You now qualify for Grumpy Gamer IV! (Title: Bitter Beta'er)

Talthazar,

Thanks for the news. Actually, I do believe it and it is important to me. I look forward to seeing this stuff.

Thank you for getting us this information. I hope it is true.

A concern I have is every revision of the list I have brought up that I (we?) would like to see bio-engineer have control of special attacks the creature-to-be can use. The first time the comment was left out, this list it is in there but very glossed over.

Forgive my bruised and battered psyche that now needs specific confirmation of a seemingly unimportant detail. Will bio engineers have control of specific special attacks used by our creatures?

Example: Some creatures can spit acid, some pets use a knock-down attack that is more effective than pistol-whip, some pets use a dizzy-causing attack, some pets cause stun or blind effects, others can poison, and I've been victim of a particularly nasty bacteria that giant dune kimogila carry that can and normally does render an entire pool (mind health or action) not just damaged and empty but WOUNDED... I mean seriously black to zero wounded. Others I've seen (ancient krayt for example) use an area-effect special doing the one (or more) of the above or something even more interesting.

Please... humor the BE that's only barely hanging by a thread... throw me that bottle of Aquafina... please...

I'm not sure if anyone has commented on this, and I'm fairly sure they have, but.....

I was talking to a former Master Chef (gave up in frustration, is now BH/SL/CH) about the Chef tissues we can make. When I told him what was required to make each tissue, and the possible benefit he laughed out loud. Our Chef tissues are as or more resource expensive than almost all the foods even a Master Chef can make. He told me that the only way he would consider buying and using them is if they cost 1/4 to 1/10 as much as they do now. I found that to be quiet reasonable. Nobody is going to pay more than twice as much for foods that are boosted in one are but penalized in another, or last a bit longer.

Just my two cents on a possible (and easy) fix/improvement to our profession. I would love to sell these tissues, but right now they are only good for practice-crafting.
