It doesn't matter what we think. It matters what the Devs think...

I highly doubt they "lose" the serial number, it's just that you don't see it any more. Serial numbers for "things" is one way developers can track things like duping.

There would be alot of other info tracked that we don't get to see as well...

The holidays are over.

Yet I see no "fix."
I see no comments from real devs.
All I see is talk from know-nothings who want to feel special.

Conclusion:
Its intended.

well one thing is for sure plz if any one know a link to and official thread plz post it

i been keeping an eye to this "bug" thing cuz i some be pets non of them are non ch they all are 18 to 50 cl

they are better than wild ones and i wont like them to be deleted or re leveled

any way why a be cant make a "uber cl10 pet" havent you seen the at-st with a kryat brain? that is be made

why they call this kamu dna "Bugged" since almost 25 or more creatures has the same problem "if" that is a problem

other thing why if some one do a crazy thing and go into a non combat profession? what he will have to defend from mobs?

i say if they are goin to "nerf" this let them better do it wisely cuz a bio engineer is a bio engineer that is what he does improve what is already made

ps: some off the ppl here that are whiningabout this are

1erson that dont have the ubber pets

2: be that havent found a way to do it

3pl that was kill by a be chuba

I think people should stop saying the words bug and exploit to describe this situation.I think there is a difference between a bug and just a system that isn't perfected.A bug is when something is glitchy, like when you can't log into the bazaar.

A bug and a glitch are essentially the same thing, something in the programming that isn't working as intended or wasn't recognised to cause a fault when originally tested or written. Afault on the bazaar is caused by any number of things from a physical fault with SOEs hardware from a new bit of code that was introduced recently and caused a problem. Put simply, anything that isn't working as intended is a bug or a glitch. Incomplete programming or simple mistakes don't mean it's anything else, if it's not doing what it should then it's flawed reguardless of if it's a work in progress or supposedly a final build. Technically if anything has a flaw then it's not completed anyway unless that flaw was created after it was intially finished and is caused by an external force which didn't alter the original design. A statue can crumble because it had a flaw due to errosion, that doesn't mean it wasn't originally finished though.

As for exploits, well. Some bugs can be exploited and some can't. In the case of our system we know what is causing some ofit now (effectiveness resistances) meaning that you can reproduce the results every time to the point where you can plan ahead for specific results. The bug can be avoided completely and self policing is certainly possible by using existing mobs in the game as a guideline of what to expect. Either because of malicious intentions or simplerefusal to acceptit as a flawthe fact is that this bug/glitch which people are aware of and use to their advantage.

haha killed by a chuba! lol

Ya know i was thinking about it, it would be rad if there were expensive creatures people could buy, then a crafter like me could really use it! Most of the low level fighters can't afford stuff. When your a newb man it's great to have a spat help you get those bottom boxes. They can make a big difference.

You're right Tal, a bug and a glitch are the same thing, and I am saying it is NEITHER.Again,I am speaking of the code, an inanimate object which cannot have "intentions". It does what is is told.It is not a bug that is not working properly, the code is doing what it is told when you put the kammurith dna in the crafting tool and combine. If the devs think the results are unbalanced, they need the change the code.

I guess I am thinking of it from a programming point of view.I am just learning programming and do not claim to "know it all".However, if I write a program for my programming class, and I called something like that a bug I would fail the assignment. If I write lines of code and the instructor sees that the program is not doing what is intended or assigned, but IS doing what I told it to do, i.e. I got the assignment wrong,my instructor dislikesstudents who call their progaramming oversights "bugs".

So,Tal, as I said before, working as the developers envisioned ,and bugged code are 2 separate things to me .If the devswould respond on the friggin topic they might even agree.

People who spammed knockdown before the timer were not exploiting a bug. They were just playing the game the way it was available at the time.People who were novice and had a rancor before the very first update were not exploiters, and that wasn't a "bug".In both instances, the devs just said it needed changed and changed it.

They never told the code not to let novice have a rancor.See what I mean now. They havn't told the code not to let a be make the pets in question.Where the pull too many pets is a bug, because they HAVE code haw many pets one can have at a given skill, and if it is exceeded somehow,THAT is bugged code.

That's all I mean, it's not about the pets even anymore, just about the mudslinging.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with you believing certain pets are unbalanced,Tal.There is absolutely nothing wrong with you "policing yourself".There is nothing wrong with you coming on the boards and voicing you're opinion.

But there is something wrong with you labeling everyone who doesn't agree with you a "cheater " or an "exploiter"

It is the devs fault.period.Remember,I havn't even made any of these pets and you have.

But you said it in you're own words . SELF POLICING.that means police yourself ,Tal, not everyone else

Just a thought... Maybe it's going to take more than a day to fix. The devs generally don't comment on exploits (which are simply bugs that affect a player positively and can harm the game as a whole) before the fix goes in because they don't want to inform people who don't read the forums often about the bug/exploit before it is fixed.

Conclusion: It's either intended ...or couldn't be fixed in one day.

ITS NOT A BUG! IT IS WHAT WE ASKED FOR!!!!

A long time ago, there was this wishlist for BE's. One of the TOP items was that we be able to make creatures that were better at a given level than anything available to that level of CH in the wild. This is a reasonable thing to want as a BE, since making creatures should be our main goal. And making better, more customized creatures than what any CH can tame is the whole point.

I don't think it's a bug. I think it's bad programming.

I like to hope not.I can understand not letting non-ch's have a BE'd Rancor or something, but at the same time I think it makes sense to be able to take a higher level creature and engineer it to be lower level (i.e. easier to control...not weaker). If we can't do that then all that makes us are slaves to CHs, b/c they'd be the only ones who could control anything we make. I think the balance will come from the economics. If I made a creature with 9k HAM or whatever that was CL10...I wouldn't sell if for cheap. But that can be exploited with PA's handing them out the their fellow guild members.

If this is a bug, then it should be fixed with all due speed, but don't let us be slaves to CHs. Maybe try only allowing us to shave off 2 to 5 levels off a creature.

Well, that's my two-cents

We know they can fix this because they fixed it before. When the game first launched, you could get incredible DNA by sampling babies. Any baby that you sampled gave you dna stats through the roof, which is why we can no longer sample babies. They retroactively fixed this problem by nerfing all the creatures that had been made by this dna. To say again, they nerfed only the creatures that were made by this dna.

As they have said on numerous occassions, the new system ties cl directly to the creature's abilities. Any beginning database administrator could find the creatures whose numeric cl is out of line with their numeric abilities.

I know you guys want this to be how it is supposed to work, but it runs counter to every single thing the devs have said about how they want the game to function. It is a bug, in addition the lack of feedback is a prime example of SOE's continued lack of commitment to communicating with their customers.

Stuckey,

What about the Baz Nich lair exploit (Devs term, not mine)? Technically, the code let players hide in the lair and not get aggroed by the defenders while they killed the lair. This was deemed an exploit even though it was working "as coded". What about the exploit (again, devs term) where people could store extra missions on a droid with a data module. Again, this was a design flaw, but a code mistake yet the devs called it an exploit.

It's simply a jargon thing. Your professor taught you to call a bug one thing while most of us see a system that isn't producing the proper results and call it "bugged".

If you wrote a program that when asked to add 2 plus 2 returned a sum of 5, (because your program was written that way)your professor might not see it as a bug, but it's still wrong.
