The BE component of this is by far the most time-consuming and expensive to make.

Please explain how?

Yes the meat is harder to get, than berries or fruit and as such will cost about 15cpu or 20 cpu in bulk amounts, but that is it. The Brandy at this pricing requires 2 identical Alcohol (10 cereal + Factory time)plus a cask (requiring 2 trim from a tailor + 150 gemstones + Factory Time) and The nutrients from you BE first have to be run through the Factory with 10 water to make additives. That's 4 runs of the factory, total.

How is your BE component more time consuming? You run your factory once you double your money, we run it 4 times to make 2.6 times our outlay.

With a Master BE friend to make me the schematics from my ingredients I make my own tissues, however before we met I did not mind paying 2k per decent BSN.

In future please do not comment on what you have no clue about.

I was refering to the amount of time necessery to gather meats. There is noviable way to generatethe meat resource without being atyour keyboard. Factory items take game-time, but not player-time. 15-20 cpu is quite, quite cheap on the server I play on for high quality meat.

I was simply stating an opinion. No need to get nasty, is there?

I was told yesterday by a chef in my town (different guild) that he dropped chef because the BEs wanted too much for their tissues.

I charge 5 cpu for harvester gathered resources and 25 cpu for hand gathered, which results in about 15k for lights, 25k for mediums and 30-35k for heavies. I think this is probably a bit low for my server since I seldom don't have a chef jump at my prices.

The reason why I charge a little more is to make any huge runs of tissues, I either need to collect the meat myself or obviously buy it. Now, collecting it all by myself is NOT an option. I don't mind collecting some of it, but just going around killing things for meat all the time sucks and not my idea of having a good time. It gets boring after a while, you know? So I need to buy probably half of my meat from people, if not more just to be able to make decent runs in my factory. Now, if the best spawn of meat at the timehappens to be avian, for example, forget buying it. Docs will offer 100 cpu or more for that meat. How can any BE compete with prices like that? So when there are good spawns of carnivore meat, like there was a week or so ago on Kauri, I buy it for 25 cpu or less. I think anything over 25 cpu for meat used in tissues is a rip off. But since I have to buy the meat, I pass that cost on to the chef. I've NEVER had a complaint by a chef on the price of my tissues, by the way. If a chef doesn't like my prices, then they can go somewhere else. Also, if a chef places an order, I always have it filled within a day or two. Not the fastest BE out there, but I'm always reliable, which I think people appreciate.

wow another pricing thread with flames in it... imagine that...

Here is the deal.... for all you chefs that are not BE's and don't understand our cost.

First flora, you know the price... b/c you use it... It can get very pricey for high quality stuff. BSN's take 60k of flora per factory run. That is a TON of resources for 1000 nutrients. Now grant a large chunk can be split to creature resources, but to be honest, its cheaper to pay even outrageous prices for flora than it is to pay for the extra meat. B/c each run REQUIRES 20k or Creature FOOD, ie MEAT/MILK/EGGS. Find me 20k milk in a single stack and I will probaby wet myself. Regardless even on the extremely cheap side, meat costs aroud 10cpu... Though good meat, especialy in those kind of stacks costs closer to 20-30cpu.

On top of that, our factory run for BSN's takes more than 2 full days of RL time. That means 1 lot is taken up for 2 days making nutrients instead of harvesting flora.

I just wanted that info out there. Prices reflect primarily that. And don't tell me your brandy prices reflect high nutrient prices b/c honestly... LOL even when we charged nothing for our nutrients, you still gouged the people of most servers with be'd brandy prices.

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Now that that is out of the way... my prices... I have found a very suitable price scheme on Radiant. I try to keep a vendor stocked, but honestly it ain't easy...

I charge 25k for a crate of MicroNutrient Suppliments, or Light Suppliments

I charge 35k for a crate of BSN's or medium nutrients

I charge 45k for Intelligent Nano Nutrients, or heavy Nutrients

Those prices seem to be right in the middle... anyless and they are bought minutes after being announced... higher and they sit in stock for a week of so. At those prices its easy to sell full runs to chefs....

But I will be candid, BSN's aren't where money is at... hahaha they lie somewhere else.

Flymoe,

I agree with you on having to buy the meat. Anything over 25cpu for it makes it hard to sell. And Running around trying to get it myself is definitely time consuming. The problem I am having is that no matter how much meat I get, I still need more.

I don't think there are enough people trying to provide meat to the BE's. It is a vicious cycle.

Anyway, being consistent has allowed me to get several special orders from people. This applies to creatures and tissues.

As long as I can get it in a day or two, nobody seems to mind.

I do what I must.

lol tha'ts awesome..... i know several chefs who just started and say they know now why people charge so much for food and drink

chef is not an "easy" profession or one that you can do well and be lazy about

you can't just grab some additives and churn out products

I price tissues as follows:

Low quality (~ +77 BSN, +13 tailor tissues) ... 1.5k per tissue

Good quality (~ +80 BSN, +15 tailor tissues) ...2k per tissue

High Quality (+82 or higher BSN or +16 or +17 tailor tissues) ... 2.5k per tissue

I've never had an order for intelligent nanonutrients or light additives... chefs seem to want BSN's or nothing on my server.
