Thread: We want to use our own pets!!

As far as I know, you can only drop them in a house... you can pretty much drop anything in a house. You can *not* drop them if you've already had them out and tamed. Only pets you've just made and not had out yet can be dropped. I'm not sure if you can make a pet, drop it in a house, pick it up, and use it. I would think you could... but once you did, you wouldn't be able to drop it again. Something to test once I have a house and am a BE.

The only problem I can see with that idea is room... Is there a house big enough to (comfortably and aesthetically) hold a baby kimogilla, rancor, faamba, and each of the other pets?

BE = crafter prof
CH = combat prof

CH can't craft their pets.
BE can't fight with theirs.

Want to do both?
Cross train.

It's not a bad system, really.

BE have plenty roles in this game, but they are CRAFTERS. once you realize this, it will make more sense to you. if you want to combat with your creations, then become a CH. im both bio and ch now, and its pretty fun(except for the fact that ch is broken rite now.)

I agree with the original poster. The BE CE setup becomes a cookie cuttertemplate if you are required to have both skills to use your creations. This leaves no room for variation to "Master" in one of the many other professions.

Short and sweet.

i think at master bio eng we should get the ability to totallycontrol/command/enslave one bio eng pet.

Somehow it doesn't make sense to me, to make animals you can't controlin some way. If all you are doing is selling them to Creature Handlers, the CHcould just go on to be BE themselves.

Sorry I don't think BE's should be able to do anything as far as taming goes. That's what Ch's are. I myself and going both ch and be cause i'd like to make my own pets.

OH and one more thing giving anyone the right to have pets in the game is wrong imo, i'm working hard to have pets, anyone who wants pets should also out in the time the cher's are.

First, BE is far from useless. As with all crafting professions, something made by a player will always be superior to something obtained for "free" in game, as a drop or in a CH's case, anything they can tame. A master BE crafted Rancor properly engineered will chew a fully growed tamed Rancor's face off.

Second, BE is a crafting class - do you think those pasty faced eggheads in biogenetics labs cloning up a lion would know how to teach that lion tricks to perform in a circus? No - not unless they also learned (*gasp*) Creature Handling skills.

The previously used analogy is perfectly fitting. A master Weaponsmith can craft a Republic Blaster... but he sure can't use it. Not unless they get that cert by training pistol/pistoleer.

If you want to use your own pets there's nothing to stop you from going both BE and CH.

Maybe the issue here isn't the division of skills and abilities, but the placement of them in the training scheme.

I've been pretty undecided about professions, but leaning toward Bio-Engineer...I've just been realizing that it is indeed a crafting profession, which surprised me considering it's a hybrid profession. If I'm not mistaken, it is the only crafting profession that requires not only 2 lines of prereq training, but 2 novice professions.

Since that is the case, I'd fully expect Bio-Engineering to be a pretty fully powered crafting specialization...we don't really know the extent of it, but on the pet side, you are looking at a somewhat limited market (CH's only) and no ability to use your own creations unless you hybrid. As a crafting profession, you can be something like a weaponsmith and have 29 more extra points to spend than you would as a BE.

That's my issue with the profession and the one making me consider switching my intention.

Thanks for shopping at Quolomart, where your satisfaction is probably a coincidence.

I don't think this is an issue of cheapening CH, it's an issue of the only class in the game with real potential being nerfed into worthless dirt.

CHs can provide their own pets, so too must Bio-Engineers, they could be, as they should be, different takes on the same profession.

Well i like BE and think the combination BE/CH is only natural. I get bored if i only run aroud an d shoot things, that's why i don't do Bounty Hunter as long as there are no Player Hunting missions.
