I tried this experiment out tonight, and I posted this in another thread here, but just in case people missed that one, here are my results.

I had my Toxic Merek Battlelord attack my friend. He had on a Helmet with Acid protection and kinetic protection. He had on body armor with kinetic protection but no Acid protection. And leggings that had Acid and Kinetic protection.

With my TMB on range attack only, when he hit the body, indicated by floaty numbers in red, it hit for exactly what the combat queue stated. When hit in the Head for mind damage with blue floaty numbers it was dramatically lower if I remember correctly combat queue was 250ish with floaty 55 and I believe he said it had either 55% or 75% acid resists. When hit in the legs indicated by green floaties we had both full hits and reduced hits, this being because he is a Doshan and can't wear boots.

Afterwards he reviewed his combat log and the helmet and the leggings did list as reducing the amount of damage delivered on him. So a TMB's range attack is Acid (I didn't check his other resists in his armor, but it surely isn't kinetic).

Today was my first full day as a Novice BE. I made a nice little Eopie with ranged attack. CL13 with H2634 A2239 M3586 but only 70-75 damage. We repeated the experiment. With the Eopie on Ranged attack only. When he hit the body he was hitting for the full 9 points of damage, the body armor being resistant to Kinetic but no resists to Acid. When he hit the mind the combat queue stated 9 points, but the floaty stated 1, and that helmet had both Acid and Kinetic resists in it. We then waited for the Eopie to hit his legs, and the same reduction was seen there.

In this experiment the BE made Eopie with Ranged attack was not shooting Kinetic damage. I want to venture to say it was Acid, but I believe we need more testing.

If anyone else tested this, please let us know your results.

whoa, that's weird, guess i'll start testing some BE creatures as well

also please post the stats on the armor and the rough stats from the combat log......

i'm trying to contract an armorsmith to make me some low-quality suits but so far i just get the "i only make composite" response

i'm going to post a link to this thread in the ch and as forums to try and get some more help

I already posted my info on the CH boards, we would be happy to have your input as well. As this was a last minute experiment as I was logging off when he was logging on, we only had a few minutes to try. I hope to get more time to try this out. I am going to see if I can get some screenies of his armor resists and screenies of mine and his combat log. He was wearing Padded Armor for the Body and I think Comp for the helmet, but I dont' remember. I will see what I can find out.

that's fine, at least you got a chance to test it

what i would like is to duel a creature only using ranged several times with several different suits of armor
because of lag, etc. it's hard to just look at the numbers floating above someone's head
for the most accurate results, using several different armor types with several different vulnerabilities/resistences we can get the most accurate results
i plan on taking all the numbers and calculating them and try and rule out possible damage types until we get down to one

i also tried dueling some mantigrues the other day, i was using chitin and it was hitting me, but it wasn't kinetic..... i tried to do some more testing but he kept going into melee range and so did the rest of the lair
