Thread: Talthazar can you ask Thunderheart to try and find out.....
Btw, thereshould bea default macro for DNA sampling in the game now. I did verify it on TC but never seem to remember on Live. It's listed under other in the command browser and has a dna helix icon.
Also the patch notes refered to stacking tissues in different slots. Tissues in the same slot do not stack.

Why aren't Bio Engineers needed to drop cloning centers?
I have mentioned this but I'm not sure anything will come of it. Honestly I'm not sure I understand this one myself. Sure it would be nice to know we're being thought of but what would be the point of requiring a be to place a cloning center? Would there be enough of us to ensure cities that needed them would get them? What would be the purpose other than some lots we can't use for other things? Doctors work out of hospitals and entertainers work out of cantinas. These classes get clear benefits from these structures that make sense to the professions. What benefits would we get?
I wouldn't feel like an after-thought. A paraiah. A running joke. At this point, I'll take even the hope of role-playing my profession, like Chefs. A Cantina is actually a bad idea from a standpoint of either a Chef or an Entertainer...if you just run it out of a large house, you can also get targetted healing of wounds other than Mind by Medics. No, you don't get the interminably slow heal-over-time of Fatigue, but who the hell is going to park their character in a player city cantina with the hope of getting that? So a player city Cantina ia a role-playing place. It eating up 5 of a Chef's lots is a harsh penalty to pay for role-playing, but some of them are willing to do it for the sake of role-playing. It really cuts back on the number of harvesters and factories they need to actually make their seriously-in-need-of-balancing-attention food, not to mention a personal residence. And there's no good place in them to store things, I hear.
I know several Entertainers who are actually Surveyor resource salesmen/speculators to actually make money, since Music, Dance and Image Design are not really viable careers in and of themselves. So a 5 lot hit to them is harsh, too.
We could pursue our craft in a Cloning Center just as viably as a Doctor can in a Med Center or an Entertainer or Chef does in a Cantina. You could put in a crafting station (okay, so it'd be ugly and out of place, but the same problem applies to Chefs and Docs) or just use a droid (which would mean sub-standard product, but again, Chefs and Docs would have the same issue).
I'm glad Chefs are now only as broken as we are (now that food buffs don't screw you over more than they help you, pathetic as they are), and not more. Perhaps a little less, in that they have a place, even if it's only a role-playing one, in player cities.
That is the benefit we would get; not feeling like we don't matter to anyone. A purpose. What about that is so hard to understand?
Actually most of the doctors I know work out of either the cantina or the starport. You either ignore your wounds and keep going. In which case the doc in the starport heals your and then hits you up for buffs. Or you decide its time to get healed so you start by heaing to the cantina. Have to get the battle fattigue down to a manageable level before the rest of your healing. Once there you find a medic/doctor healing the dancers. Soon as you mind is healed up you step outside with the doc and get your damage dealt with. Every time I go to the med center I find some poor slob sitting there waiting for a medic to show up. I then explain how things work and walk with them over to the cantina so they can get healed.
