If you don't care about making pets you could get the tissues / med exp line and save the other skill points for something else. I just can't see harvesting all the meat that chefs want a full run. There is gonna have to be a huge adjustment to crafting after CU. Vet players are going to hate it while others might like it. I find BE a fun profession and would like to keep it after CU.

Master Ranger Gives the highest Combat level of any profession(ironic that We arn't even considered a combat class by most people...=/)

Master ranger + MBE gives something in the mid 60's, Add in a few Medic or Brawler/marksmen boxes and it yeilds at most 65 if i recal corectly.

Franklya bio-engineer's combat level is irrelivant, it doesn't make the job any harder as when aggro occours the simplest thing to do is run. Sure you can fight but let me tell you now, its better to simply spend the points n something to help the business. Before the current cloning system I used to be out on Lok most of the time crawling up to Kimogila which were level 125 at the time. They gave some of the best dna samples and sometimes I even got close to the enraged kimogila which were level 200, with those its was usually one hit kills and frankly I miss those days. I really think they need to remove the sampling cap now that the cloning system bases the final clones level on the donar dna. The original implentation was to stop overpowered clones due to the fact the clone bodies had fixed levels and the 100+ dna gave some especially high results.

in CU combat lvl does matter...lvl determines damage mitigation, and Health, so sampling any high lvl mobs, would most likley mean, alot of quick trips to a cloner
Ive been triple incapped, slain, by voritors on TC-Ahazi, as i was tryin to run away, and im a freakin TKM

Master Ranger / MBE + 3 boxes in CH gives a combat level of 66.

strangely, the converse template (MBE/MCH + 3 boxes of ranger) gives a CL of about 61.

Testing both, I they are both good tie-ins to BE. Rangers really helps with terrain mitigation/ etc..CH just enables you to use your pets - and also enables you to have at least some offensive / defensive skills

TH has just posted an acknowledge of issues the playerbase are shouting about in the testing forum. It states documents about some of these issues (Ranger / Squad leader / future combat systems etc) will be issues within a few weeks.

Hmm its supposed to be live in 2 weeks.

if they decide to fundamentally change, say, ranger - POST CU, will they allow everyone another respec? I doubt it

I just thought I would tell you all how much I appreciate your work on TC. I have spent most of my time testing CH and have left my BE testing alone. I like the thoughts that you have all brought to the table.

Does your CL determine what animals you can sample DNA from? For example, if you're only CL40 are you limited to sampling animals that have a CL less than or equal to 40?

I tried master BE/master CH on Ep-3

I found something rather interesting. I found that if i sampled anything level 17 or lower, the fortitude was frankly poop, never higher than 16 (often 7 to 0) However, once I hit level 18 animals....poof! 1000fortitude!

Now, combine this with the fact that pets being made use an armor system which does not exist in the CU (armor rating heavy/med/light) and resists to damage types that no longer exist (stun, blast, ect). I found that once fortidude hit 500, the armor rating went to light, and the creature went to handling level 129 to 160. Aside from being useless, they also did crap for damage (my personal favorate being my level 139 that did 50-60damage)
However, when I hit fortitude of less than 500, I ended up with pets levels 6 to 16.

So, overall, BE was obviously overlooked for this whole combat upgrade....as they didn't even make the new armor system into pets...supposed to go live today, kudos to SOE on that one.

I assume you mean post-CU .. and the answer to that is that as a combat level5 novice BE w/o any boxes of BE DNA sampling filled in (I ground all the way up to novice BE) I was actually able to sample a level 35 voritor dasher on dantooine. I didn't have mask scent so he killed me about 5 times before i got the one sample, but, and this was early CU-testing so may have changed since - at that time we were not limited.

Did the dasher DNA have a fortitude of 1000? If so, the DNA is completely useless.
