Thread: BE COMMUNITY: support a thread to get us a correspondent!
A quick analysis on negative vs. positive.
SOF has pointed out what needs to be done, as well as what has been done incorrectly. In a very direct way. He may have used negative words, but he's still playing his BE. This is a positive action.
Sinnyil has kept his tone polite. And done a good deal for the BE community. But he quit in frustration. This is a negative action.
The amusing part is that no thought, word or deed, positive or negative, has made the least bit of difference in getting us a correspondent to be our voice to the devs.
I have offered to help out in the correspondent absence and this is what Thunderheart had to say to me:
Thanks JWolf - - Ill see if I can make that happen
I too am extremely concerned about the lack of communication we have had lately. I have no idea what happened to ?waydubb? but we have went for way to long without a correspondent.
Not that I can be the almighty/all knowing BE correspondent but if I get this opportunity rest assured I will do everything possible to make sure our voices are heard - daily. And I can promise you I will be active on this board every single day - just as I am now.
Am I a glutton for punishment or what? ![]()
Frankly I don't care who is selected at the moment as long as it's someone who has always been a regular poster on these boards, hell i'd even welcome SOF as a correspondant despite the fact I bearly agree with him ![]()
Yeah, the two of you do like to spit and fight at each other, but us old farts need to stick together. We should get a badge for putting up with this prof for four months. Poor X, actually perks his ears up when a dev says "shortly." Isn't that cute?
On the Jedi board they have a saying: no pics=BS
Over here I guess we would say: no date=BS
Yes, I've lost the faith. So why am I still here? Ummm...habit maybe? Masochism? Who knows? Maybe it's that stupid carrot-onna-stick.

I don't think they'd have me as a correspondent because I've been such a pain. And I keep saying **edit**.
God, that made me feel old, all I could think of was the old Match Game from the 70's.
"The BE felt so broken, he took out his sampling hypo and stuck it in his <blank>."
Regardless if you feel like BEs have been shafted or if the devs have done right by us, we NEED a correspondent. The very nature of an MMORPG demands that things constantly evolve. Without a correspondent, the profession will stagnate or wander in a direction that the players (that's us, the folks with the $15.00 a month--ok, some of us $30 or $45 or....) don't want and/or don't enjoy. This needed to happen the week after the last correspondent left. Devs, even if you don't have anything new to tell us, at least get us a cor who can pass that word along.

Several Correspondents have recently resigned, and that is the place they are directing their prospective replacements to apply. It is also where the most recent replacements got accepted.

if no one objects, i think i might be up for taking the role and stepping up to apply for correspondent.
..and to Tal-N, i know we tend to disagree in many of our views, but i have always respected you as someone who knows what he is talking about, and when we do bicker about things its rarely about anything other than the betterment of the profession, a subject which i feel we are bothtogetheron. ![]()
thread in SWG Discussion simply asking for a new correspondant and explaining that ours has been MIA for almost a month:

anyone who feels that having a voice to the DEV's and some control in the future of our profession should support this thread with a post.
