Thread: Avoiding critical failures

droid and public stations, last I heard, count as null (which is significantly different than zero).
the architects and droid engineers would be the ones to ask about this. all the rumors I've heard from THEM indicate that droid stations work better than 43.xx stations... but rumors aren't hard data.
the only way I know to prevent crit failures 100% is to not craft. not a very good solution.

Hehehe, doh!, how could I forget! Next time I make a pet I'll sacrifice of one virgin durni to Grozurr, the Evil God of Assembly.

hehe!
Nancyj can you get a moderator to give me a special title "Evil God of Assembly"?
OH! the durni comment reminded me that i have to get back to work on my evildurni...once i get this other pet done for a CH (it'll be fun- he wants a CL 70 pet
) i need to get to work on my durni, once i get started on that i'll challenge the evil underworld BE corbis to a battle with his squall and prove the dominant pet and the right for the Claim of Better Pet! any tips arthur? ![]()

Just for clarity, are you referring to a crit fail where you lose your DNA materials or just a critical failure that faffs your end result?

I've eaten something like 6 p cakes, done 6 combines, and gotten 1 critical failure. After that one I stopped eating p cake
I have never experienced a critical failure after eating a pyollian cake, out of close to a hundred pets made (and that's two cakes per generation of pet, one for template, one for skin).
I'm taking about the kind where you spend all day looking for bark mite burrower queens for a customer that wants a 5xBMBQ pet, many hours later you collect just enough (5) for one pet, you go back to your high quality crafting station, using your best crafting tool, eat p-cake that you had specially made for you just for such an occasion, insert the dna into the schematic and POW crit fail, you lose all your dna, you utter a few choice words, shut off your computer, and head straight for the liquor cabinet ![]()
p.cake affects assembly.
port affects experimentation
P.S. I just thought of one more way one can theoretically decrease crit fails... force sensitive crafting skills (bah, like I have the skill points to waste on that)

I hate to burst your bubble, but while BE crafting experience points are applied to that, as a master BE you can't unlock the skill tree.
You would be better off applying your DNA sampling and scout points to enhanced senses...oh wait, we can't unlock that one either.

Durnis, Squalls....bah! You will all fall before the mighty Vir Vur!
ooooo....you steppin' on thin ice here...lets see this vir vir and then we'll see who can deal the most death (or in the case of furry animals...terror)
You are all bunnyheads. Everyone knows gnorts are the terrors of the field. Hmmm. I wonder if that makes me pigheaded.
If you are avoiding this line of thinking, the profession IS doomed.
Do I have a "bubble"? hmm, didn't realize that. But anyhow, yea, annoying that it requires novice artisan. But we're better off then many at least. Try being something like a ranger or bounty hunter or something and wanting "luck" (which is a perfectly reasonable thing to want) or worse, "persuation". Got master medic? bah.
