Thread: Mount Warning
YAY!! I got something right for once ![]()
The transfer command issue is a few months old. In their infinite wisdom they required all animals to have the transfer command but it screwed things up horribly. It was modifiedtwo days later so only creature handler animals required the command. I remember because that was how I lost Pinky 2 ![]()

If you clone one of the non-CH mounts, please warn your customers that the deed needs to be tamed by a high-level CH.
I stated this wrong, the issue is with CH pets, not non-CH pets. And frankly it's more of an issue for lower-level CH than for BE, but I wanted to mention it here anyway.
My specific complaint was with the inability of a low-level CH to be able to find their own mountable pets in the wild. Under the current scheme, they have to call in a Pack Master to tame a mountain dewback they've found, and train it the transfer command. This is seriously weak, IMO. As far as I'm concerned, transfer should be a convenience command, not a requirement. I don't want any low-level CH customers coming back and complaining that they didn't know their bio-pet couldn't be traded for mount training later on. It's poor customers service (Ordlander).
i was m ch, working for m be,
there is a patch in CH tree comeing not sure when that will lower the non ch level from 15 to 10
not sure when but it's coming, hearsay says vehicles patch, just a warning

(snip)If the pet isn't trained with transfer and it's higher than CL15 (adult) then the secure trade window trade will fail giving you an error message telling you the pet hasn't been trained with the transfer command (I don't know if both sides get this message or only the CH).
I tried to trade with a guy to train his dewback last night and I got the expected failure message ("This pet has not been trained in the transfer command") and he told me that the message he saw was only that the trade had failed, but not why. So this probably also contributes to the confusion.
any pet over level 15 needs the transfer command or you can not trade it, was in one of the patches, not sure which one

Guys, I am not sure I understand the problem..
THe rule is, any non CH pet has to have the transfer command to transfer it. You get the transfer command at Management 4. If you are a CH and tame something and do not have the tranfer command... how are you going to transfer it. This is not a bug. You have never been able to. They just changed it so you could transfer non CH pets shortly after the non CH's got pets.
What did I miss?
Been this way for a number of weeks now. A bunch of low level CH were screaming on the CH boards when it happened. All the master CHs were left smiling. I believe some of the patch notes a few weeks back made mention of this....All non-CH pets don't require transfer. CH only pets require transfer.Everyone getting pets from me in person gets warned. Not much I can do when I'm not around andthey buy stuff on the vendor. I put stuff in the description but people seldom read it...*shrug*
Yes, the trading/transfering of pets still needs some thought put into it. But I think when the new CH changes go live, the market for pets will dwindle rapidly. I personally beleive the BE should jsut get the transfer command at novice BE, then they could transfer anything they could tame.

This hasn't always been the case, GreenStok. I've been able to trade CH pets in the past, it's only recently that I noticed it's no longer working. Unfortunately I don't remember when it worked last, so it's obviously been patched.
The point was to notify BE that it couldn't be done, and to suggest they warn their customers to have their CH mounts tamed by a high-level CH, if the customer cannot, themselves, train the transfer command. If they do, they'll never be able to trade it for mount training later.
Just because you know this is the case doesn't mean everybody does. As I said it used to work, now it doesn't. So consider it an informational message.
