Unfortunately I'm at work. Unfortunate for a number of reasons, the least of which concerns this post...

I don't remember what my total intake was last night, I'm not even going to guess; I'd look if I were at home. But, I did harvest shellfish for about 4 hrs. The only serious math (that I can remember) that I took away from the harvesting last night was that I seemed to get 5 mullosk for every 3 crustacean. Now, not literally, but you know, in aggregate.

If anyone cares to continue the science, here are a few things I did in attempts to increase my yield. In the end I couldn't say anything helped for sure...

Moving around to different spots on the shoreline - early on this seemed to help, but then as I settled down after getting quite bored, it just seemed to me that successful harvests came in waves. So I might go 5 or 6 tries with nothing, then a wave of 5 or 6 successes. I think the was a subconscious coincidence of me moving after a wave died down.

Sitting - can't sit in water
Kneeling - didn't really help much
Prone - hah, if you can't sit in water, how could you expect to be able to go prone? Remember, this is SWG where you can get wooley hide from a giant turtle. You actually can go prone between the land and the swim point. I don't think it helped much, but it made more sense from a role-playing (/duck) perspective that I'd be harvesting for shellfish on the bottom. You can actually crawl around underwater, it's quite a hoot. At this point in the 4hr shellfish harvesting binge, I was getting rather stoopid, and wasn't paying much attention to my yield. So this might be nothing either.

Again, just if your interested...(and if not, ask yourself if this is the worst waste of time you've encountered on these forums) A macro pause of about 5 seconds was optimal for me last night, given server conditions and such. Mind you I was chatting, shellfish harvesting, grinding, and surveying wood at the same time, so I may have encountered a few more 'you are already blah blah...' than I noticed. Four and a half seconds was definitely too short.

The one time I found enough mollusks to make two Mimetic Circuitry tissues (one at +14 the other at +16), I auctioned them on the Kettemoor Trade Forum. They sold for 25K each. Now that mollusks will theoretically be more readily available, I wouldn't expect to see sales this high again.

As a tailor, I can attest to the fact that demand is light for these, but I have had some very adament customers who were intent on getting clothing made with this tissue and were willing to pay quite well for it. Supply of mollusk I think will be very light, and a nice differentiator for BE's and tailors who want to offer premium products. I'm sure the price is going to hold up very nicely.

By the way, what is the macro command for harvesting this stuff, and how do you determine what the command is? I'm such a novice at macroing, lol.

This is completely outrageous, I can't stand it. Why can I only get 100k of mollusk or crustacean in a stack? It's only been live for one day and my houses are almost full of shellfish stacks. Could we either get the harvest rate reduced or the stack cap raised cuz I'm gonna quit otherwise. Eh? Oh, nevermind...

Easy, boring, Iagree. 95% of the time I have better things to be doing myself than harvesting and stacking inventory, humpty dance included. However, half of my point was that it is easy to do. The other half is that it is very easy on myclient to do: it does not lock me out of other things, the way swimming would not allow me to craft, or fighting would not allow me to mask scent, etc.One can harvest shellfish while sampling other resources, grinding out other crafting professions, being social, and most importantly I think, while fishing. So if I take a look at the other things I am doing 95% of the time, I realize thatI could be doing that while collecting shellfish, some of the time. Agreed that it should come at a premium, here's how you can get in on the action...
