Normally practice mode is set by the checkbox on the final naming stage. The UI remembers this setting. [Show of hands: how many people have lost DNA/creatures/stim packs/camp kits/etc. because we forgot to turn practice mode OFF when done..?]

I don't know if /createPrototype ignores the last practice setting or not. If not, you just need to hand-craft something (basic camp kit?) once and check the practice box at the end. And don't forget to hand-craft something when you're done to take it OUT of practice mode.

Wrongfeifong: each to thier own, but i dont see what the gain or extra challange or fun is in clicking the mouse 7-8 more times pr grinded item. The real challange in working your way up a crafting class is still aquireing the resources, finding funding etc. not the creation of the same item 5000 times over.

Well heres how i've set up my grinding macro,(for makeing micronurish suplements)

Im useing 4 crafting kits in position 16-19

As mentioned in the above posts, you'll be useing the /ui action toolbarSlot## to select your crating tools, so the number added has to reflect the position you placed you tool in)

Crafting kit Macro 1-4 (one for each kit) The icon for these macroes are added to hotbar boxes 04-07

/ui action toolbatSlot16;

/selectDraftschematic 32; (the number might differ from person to person)

/ui action toolbarSlot08; (this line is used to call another macro that will end the crafting session, each of the 4 macros call the same)

End crafting macro (in toolbar slot 08) This macro is called by all 4 of the crafting kit macros and used to 'click' through the last part of the assembly process

/pause 8; (i add this pause to give myself time to add the resoucres the schematic needs before the macro advances to the assembly step)

/nextcraftingstage;

/nextcraftingstage; (these two lines advances the process from after you add the resources to thier boxes)

/createPrototype;

/createPrototype; (finishes the crafting process and shuts down the crafting kit)

Run crafting macro (this macro will call each of the four crafting macroes once, with pauses added in to allow each of them to finish before starting the next) The icon for this macro is added to toolbarslot00 (the box selected with 'F1-key')

/ui action toolbarSlot04; (calls the hotkey for the first of the four crafting macros)

/pause 10;

/ui action toolbarSlot05; (calls second crafting macro)

/pause 10;

/ui action toolbarSlot06;

/pause 10;

/ui action toolbarSlot07;

Futher notes: This macro does handle critical failures, it skips past them and continues uninterupted, it cannot however run in practice mode. To the best of my knowledge no ones figured out how to call practice mode through the ingame macro system

If you want you can reduce the timer in the various areas to make things run faster, or increase the pauses to slow things down, to fit your prefrences. Remeber however that the pauses in the 'run crafting macro' must be at least one or two time units longer than the pause in the 'end crafting' macro as each pause in the former contains the pause in the end crafting macro (hope this makes sense)

Also, if you wanted to you could add yet another macro to call the 'run crafting macro' several times. Each time you run through the 'run crafting macro' you will go through 4 crafting processes (remeber you have a 60 item limmit in your back pack, so once in a while you'll need to delete all the items made so far)

If you get interupted while the macro is running, nothing will be destroyed.. it will simply keep opening and then closeing the crafting stations untill its run its course.. so dont sweat it if you have to stop due to a kid crying or a dog wanting out

I hope this helps those of you that are not to used to the macro system in SWG. I tried writing so it wouldnt be to hard to understand, but english is not my first language, so if your still confused let me know and ill try to reformulate myself better

Happy grinding everyone

Also be sure to read Electas post above he(?) does a good job explaining the basic commands i use in the macroes.

to gain an over view of how the macros work together, this is the proccess:

you manually start the 'run crafting macro' by pressing the F1-key (or whereveryou place the icon)

'Run Crafting Macro' starts, and enters a 10 'time unit' pause:

Crafting kit 1 macro (select the crafting kit and schematic) starts

End crafting macro (You maunally add the needed resources during the pause in the macro)

End crafting stops, in time for Run crafting macros first pause to end.. so control goes back to

Run crafting now calls crating kit 2 macro ... etc.

Electra and Tenner, many many thanks for the help on Macros

I have cut the "needless" grinding of useless products in half. I can't thank you enough from helping reduce the "mindlessness".

BTW that point on the crafting in "ui action toolbarSlot08" time must be less then the "Macro Crafting time /pause", can NOT be over stated.

Despite the GREAT detailed instructions, my Macro kept failing. till I made sure the total time in the Macro for ......08, was less then the /pause ?? times in the ......00, uber Macro.

thanks again

I am having trouble with the command /ui action toolbarslot##

I entered it and I am certain I have the number correct, but I can't get it to work... am I not spacing something correctly?

All they need to do is create one item that requires 250 hide, 250 bone, 250 meat then we wouldn't need to worry about all the multi clicking poop, but wouldn't a crit failure hurt.

Peolin, the commands are case sensetive, so you '/ui action toolbarslot00' is not the same as '/ui action toolbarSlot00'

Check the diffrent lines again and make sure the various letters are capital or non cappital where they are supposed to. Also check if you added space between toolbarSlot and the number, there shouldnt be one (though there IS a space between the /selectDraftschematic and the number.

Hope this helps

Here are my macros:

Initial Craft:
/ui action toolbarSlot07
/ui action toolbarSlot23

(first one selects my crafting tool, second one clicks this next macro which I change depending on what I want to craft)

Item Select:
/selectdraftschematic 43

(This Item Select macro is the magic number for each item you can craft that you have to guess by trial-and-error. The number increments as you get new items via new skills you can craft. For example, if a Liquid Suppression was the very first thing you were ever able to craft, then it would be 00. If a Bearded Jax was the next thing you were ever able to craft, it would be 01. Also, be warned that if/when they add/remove things from our list, that these numbers will shift accordingly to insert/remove that item.)

(Now you have to manually add the resources then click the next macro to finish the crafting and get your tool doing its countdown thing)

Finish Crafting:
/nextcraftingstage
/nextcraftingstage
/createprototype
/createprototype

/pause 60
This is another very useful macro. Be warned that the time paused is actually half of that number (in seconds). Don't ask why but that's how it works.

I was going to let this thread die out, becuase of it's contents inside, but since this last patch came out and ticked me off, I will bump this again.

IF YOU USE TENNER'S MACRO ABOVE YOU WILL LEVEL INSANELY!!!

THE FIRST DAY A CREATED THE MACRO I GRINDED 75K XP IN ABOUT 3HRS. I ONLY CRAFT CONSTRICTOR CLOTH TOO, SIMPLY BECAUSE I CAN USE GENERIC CRAP.

FORGET CLONING PETS AND SAMPLING...START MACROING ON CONSTRICTOR CLOTH TODAY!!!!

THIS IS THE FASTEST WAY TO LEVEL IN B.E. NOW!!!! AND WHO CARES THAT YOU MAKE IT TO MASTER LEVEL STILL A NOOB IN THIS PROFESSION....YOUR NOT GOING TO LEARN ANYTHING UNTIL THEY MAKE IT WORK!!!
