I'll take my armor clad kaadu over a speeder any day. Plus, I can team it with another pet. When I get to the Valley of the Rancors I have a small team to work with instead of me and a speeder.

When was the last time your 10K HAM vehicle tanked for you?
Mounts are slower for simple travel, certainly, but people are beginning to realize that driving past a mob with knockdown or cripple can get you off the bike or out of the speeder pretty quick, and the mounts can make a big difference as a fighting pet, now that we can make whatever stats on a mountable creature that we see fit.
