As for making money, I know a number of filthy rich BEs that have posted such on these forums. I think the money sink of meat always kept me at a few mil though. A few things to remember for markets tho.

Pets....although fun and all, not much repeat business, limited amount of sales

Stims....a number got rich off these, not sure how much in demand they are now, I've feel like not as much CH activity currently.

Chef tissues....great way to make money but remember you typically are now competing with the Chef/BE templates and chefs know fellow chefs as well as have the money for meat bids and stockpiles, so might be tough to get into.

Tailor tissues....another great way to make money, but tailors don't have too much repeat business on the tissues, so it once again is limited in sales like pets.

That's my take on the BE profession. It's got 4 areas that people can focus on or try to be great at all 4. Not sure how the CU will impact these markets. Also not sure of the similarities that might happen on the chef tissue market and doc/cm things.

I feel for ya velm. I got a CH on one server and a BE on the other, too bad I can't trade cross servers. Those specs you provide is what I did in the CL35 guys and left no armor with 60 kin/ener for CL23 types. There was a bit of biz at first (actually too much so), but after the initial onslaught it kinda settled a bit and I didn't seem to see a lot of CHs about. Part of it might be that on my vendor I started filling it with 1 shot combines (the CL23 types)to make up for the demand then slowly put in better. Also had a run onnon-CH pets and mounts... Of course I haven't been selling since theglobal vendors gotimplemented so maybe I should drop a vendor again and use up the 100 DNA samples I got. Then again, I might wanna wait til after the CU. It does get tiring though to have to battle the creature level. Getting the merek, voritor, graul, mite DNA isn't bad but getting crit fails on successive generations bites.

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply stims didn't sell. I mass produced Cs that several kept trying to buy out by the crates, but I found out one of them was doing a resale job with them on his own vendor. But I just saw onlya few CHs purchasing (the same ones...whichwas nice to know they were repeat customers)...this was all before the global vendor thing though. My biz ended after the mall the vendor was in lost maintenance and I lost everything on it including the full run of brandy and canape and all my pets. *cry*

I really didn't mean to single you out, per se. But, I think the info might come in handy to some BEs as to what to make. And what some CH's are lookin for

I know there was a time when I could not find a pet stim dealer at ALL! I had to do a ton of searching, I finally convinced a guildy BE, after much begging, if she could make me some. She started to do it, and I started asking around elsewhere. Now, I have a few locations marked. But, I have altered my play style so they dont take as much damage as when I was making it to master, if all goes well, they take little damage.

But, I think advertising is key for petstims. I know I have seen in a few different forums, here and elsewhere CH's lookin for vendors on where I play. Customers are out there and will LOVE you for providing them with ways to heal fluffy! They just gotta find ya.

(of course the pet market is going to change dramatically after the CU. we can only keep our fingers crossed.)

Pets....although fun and all, not much repeat business, limited amount of sales

I was bored one day while waiting for someone at the Trade Outpost on Dath, so I checked the vendor. I went through over 700 pet deeds. Out of those 700+ pet deeds, only 3 three of them seemed interesting to me. If you want to sell good pets to a MCH:

-Cat skin -why? looks nice. fast. easy to see, and it makes a nice growling sound when it attacks. Nothing big. Big = hard to see around.

-Light armor - It can make a world of difference in the amount of damage it can take before it goes down

-max kinetic res - A lot of CH's do PVE, alot of PVE uses kinetic damage.

-very high energy res - for those times when we run into NS slaves, or pirates on lok

-no ranged attack, let me say this again, NO ranged attack - If I have a pet with a ranged attack and am in combat with something that does melee, where is that melee guy going to go? to the pet that is spitting on him. Where is that pet? usually near me. So, that puts the creature near me, if has an area of effect attack, I am feeling it as well. I want to see my pets run after prey and keep them away from me, not near me.

-intimidate/stun - the first special is a MUST. That special can double how much damage a pet can take when it hits. Stun is a nice one as well. Skip the poison, disease and all that as most fights don't last long enough for those specials to matter.

-decent Health bar - most things hit the health bar, rest of the bars should be good as well. something in the 11,000 range is good

Out of 700+ pet deeds, I did not see ONE that matched this criteria. I saw a few that came close, but not a single one that met at least 3 of them. I saw pets that light armor, but very little kinetic res and huge res in blast/cold/acid, you name it. I saw pets that had light armor and some kin res, but vulnerable to energy.

As far as the sale of pet stims go, how many CH's know about that vendor? Petstims can cure damage from all three bars and is a very nice thing to have on a CH. Put the word out to CH's. Most people will find a vendor and go there over and over for repeat business, I know I do. I already have the places in my datapad and map.
