Thread: DNA recipie I know I shouldn't ask

IMHO the CL35 60kin/40energy arent hard to make.

I used BMB and Ancient graul (or was it frenzied?) and multi-gen it from a CL50ish to one CL 34 and one CL35 Narg.

Anyhoo, I since gave up twin BMB/A. Graul clones in favor of the Merek clones. Energy really isnt that important as even **if** you run NPC missions with your pets, any good CH knows how to set up macros to have your pets draw the NPCs into melee while you finish em off....

Though, I guess if a CH had no good combat skills of his own he might value the energy /shurgs

Anyhow, the BMB/A. Grauls only gave me something like 250-300damage or so. With the merek DNA I can push that to 400+ damage if I feel motivated enough.

Next time my CH bud logs on (which is rare ) I'll get the stats. I know they are his favorite pets

I probably shouldn't ask and I'll probably just get one-starred into oblivion on this forum again since I'm not a BE. I'm a BE customer though and I want to ask if my request to dublicate two cat pets someone else posted that they had is "too hard" or not easily workable. And it seems that this thread has attracted the attention of the true masters of BE.

I'm posting this because I don't want to be any kind of unreasonable customer. Here are the pets someone posted that they had...and I was asking for level 34/level 35 ish pairs with total CL no greater than 69 in twins:

Someone in another thread posted that they currently had cat pets like these:

i have two cats one is lvl 37 the other is lvl 33

LVL 37 LVL 33

100/100 98/100

H - 12k H - 11k

A - 10.5k A - 8.7k

M - 9.7k M - 9.8k

light armor light armor

resists

60% Kin. 60% Kin

40% energy 40% energy

3% blast 4% acid

4% acid 76% stun

76% stun

speed 2.26 speed 2.33

to hit .29 to hit .29

dmg 270-280 dmg 290-300

stunning strike stunning strike

strong poison strong poison

Damage isn't very high. But the specials are nice and the resists are likewise nice. Energy resist is particularly nice in PvE so it comes as no surprise to me that it is valued highly in determining creature level.

Please help me be a good customer and tell me whether asking for pets like the level 33 one is in the "totally unreasonable" category.

I made those two cats for seattlejedidave. How much is he trying to sell them for?

They were made quite a while ago now, January iircso I dont know if the recipe still stands. Ashamed to say it but I have barely played my CH/BE over the past few months.

If someone wants a crack at copying them for you, its a second gen pet, initially based off YMPW combined with Venom-filled-Arachne, resampled then stuck back in with more YMPW. Cant remember the exact process without digging through my old BE notes.

YMPW?? Ya lost me hehe

I've been workin at this request (from the original thread) for a bit now and can't nail it yet. But I didn't go generational on it... so that may help. I came a bit closer tonight... but still can't nail CL and Kinetic on the same pet.. one always falls off. Tonights critter was:

CL 34 Razor Cat

Health 9599

Action 7714

Mind 8522

Light Armor

Kinetic/Energy 30

Heat/Cold/Acid 60

AS 2.16

To Hit .33

Damage 260-270

Blinding Strike- Ranged

The whole "copy this pet" thing is not really a good request to give a BE, it's really not fair because no two pets are the same, and there is nearly an infinite number of recipes possible in the game, so there is virtually no chance of getting it exact. I've had this type of request before, and I've learned (the hard way) not to accept them under any circumstances (even if I was the one that created the original). This is because the criteria for the acceptance of such a pet is such an unknown, that you as a BE really have no clue whether your pet will meet the customers needs when it comes right down to it. Maybe my recipe will have 1k more health, 1k less mind, a vulnerability to electricity, but much higher acid resist, and maybe that is acceptable to the customer and maybe it's not. You won't really know that until the "day of reckoning" when you present the pet to the customer, at which time you may find out you completely wasted your time.

From a CH's perspective, I think what you need to do is to prioritize and keep it as simple as possible. What is really important to you? For example: maybe your request should boil down to:

CL 35 or less

around 60% kinetic

around 40% energy

armor

strong poison special

over 10k of heath

A request like that is do-able (althoughvery challenging)and both you and the BE have a pretty solid "contract".

Wow!

The actual BE who made those amazing pets!!

He's turned down an offer of 5000 credits per level for the CL 33 pet lol. (I am not expecting to pay that much as I am buying multiple pets so that I'll have a set of them for a long time that hopefully won't get nerfed.)

I saw a beautiful white gurrcat with somewhat similar stats yesterday on Dant. Strong poison and armor. Not sure what level as I was on my artisan.

I do draw the enemy into melee while I finish them off but sometimes there are an awful lot of the npcs. And I have also refused to buy any doc buffs and don't have any energy armor...so energy is kinda a concern to me.

Maybe it won't be as I get better as a CH. I can only use one pet at the moment, which I think is why I value energy so highly.

And not too multi-generational. Wow!

I heard that pets lose courage with each generation and will start running away from fights. Is that true?

My CL24 LtArmor 10kH Razorcat, Amon, is 7th or 8th generational from rancors and there are two instances in which his back is turned to a mob:

1. He's been blinded by the mob.

2. I called him back to me.

If you don't need armor on this, which you may have to go without to get it that low, I would go grassland tracker lizards on dantooine in the first 3 slots and then a couple huurton pups to round it off. You may need something else in aggression to keep the 60%, but I do a couple trackers and then huurton pup to get good kin/energy resists in a CL20ish pets. It is a take off the VD/VD/HP/HP/HP recipe. If they need more ham, they can get a doctor buff on their pet long with a con/stamina buff to get the HAM up.

That's an impressive razorcat. And thank you for the information about 9th generation being just fine in the courage department.

Hello,

i have read the Bio-Boards for a long while now and finally decided to post something on here.

Reading this thread i got a little confused over how energy is being calculated into the creature level. I always thought kinetic was the one that brings up the level greatly.

Anyway i just wanted to state that making a creature above mentioned is well within the possibility of a BE, if energy is valued higher than kinetic.

I recently made a first Gen. pet (tho its not what the creator exactly wants, but similar):

Clvl 35

11k health

8k action and mind

light armor

0.37 or 0.39 to hit (cant remember)

310 damage

45 kinetic res

57 energy res

rest vul

crippling/dizzy

as far as i understand the determination of the clvl, its the to-hit that counts in it big time.

so bringing it down a bit and and assuming a trade off between energy and kinetic should bring the lvl down to around 30.

Since i got mesome YMPW dna yesterday i will try to get a creature that will fit within the given borders, assuming i can figure out a recipe that will generate one.

Lastly i just want to say that i enjoy reading the boards greatly, they helped me alot when i was a young BE, especially the FAQ are awesome, and want to thank all of you guys for the many information i got from here. BE is for me the most fun profession, nothing beats the satisfaction when a creature just turns out the way you want and you know, even while seeming useless agains players, they are mean, bloodthirsty critters that will shread opponents on your command.

Cya and happy travels to all of you

Dhee,

Where did you find the YMPQ?

I see young malcklins and malklins and even baby malklins all the time. But I hunted (I have tracking 4) with a BE for over an hour last night and no YMPWs.

Any help appreciated.

Yeah, Telmat and I searched for about 2 hours last night and couldn't find a single YMPW. We were either looking in the wrong places, the server just didn't spawn any of them, or we were just unlucky. Is there an area where we can find them on a regular basis?
