Thread: Missing BE Dev since.....launch?
When? Will no one who shows up in dev tracker even tell us why they won't answer that simple question? Go back and read the promises we were given. Then apologize for not keeping them. Then stop wondering why we're all bitter and cynical.

I don't think he's allowed to have a forum account, at least not a known one. PR is not his job, obviously, it shows. So if he posts here directly, imagine the number of pm's he'd get. I think I remember Holo saying something to this effect a long time ago. BE has had fixes in the past, just not the big one we've all been waiting for.
1. Removed the ability to sample baby DNA. Sounds like a major nerf, but baby DNA at one time created BE terrors that could one-shot most things in the game. They were just so slow on the attack speed that you could only use them once.
2. We used to get insane amounts of DNA sampling xp by sampling our own deeds.
3. Fixed a bug that allowed anyone to walk into your house and tame or sample any creature you put on display. We complained about this one long and loud before it was fixed.
4. Allowed nonCH to own pets. Mixed blessing here, as most of our market went to the CH anyway.
5. Introduced pet stims, nonfactory at the time.
6. Allowed nonCH pets to be tamed from the deed and transferred without transfer command. Another mixed blessing because the transfer command had just been fixed. I thought the command was a good thing because it would take low level CH's out of our market, but too many BE's complained that they couldn't find a decent trainer. So the tame and tranfer thing was introduced by our dev. The bad thing is that all nonCH pets could be transferred so it put us right back at square one in the pet market and proved that those of us, including me, who put points into Man4 just wasted their time. Later after much complaining both from CH and BE Holo asked if the transfer thing should only apply to BE pets. The answer was a resounding yes. Nothing happened after that. (Though now that mounts must be grown before taming, taming from the deed might finally start to work in our favor.)
7. "Fixed" tissues, and allowed tissue line to be made in factories.
8. "Fixed" DNA sampling. Is it really better than before? The jury is still out on this one. At least we're not stuck in one place anymore.
There were a few more minor things that have changed. But I can't really say that nothing has happened since launch. No, I'm not defending our lack of a timeline, that frustrates me too. I suspect that Keldarin himself might be happy to give us one if it would shut us up for awhile. I'm betting that it's SOE policy to keep him gagged. Still doesn't make it better from our perspective though.
