While none of your other specials will do the same kind of damage-per-hit as headshot2, they should be doing comparable damage over time. Headshot2 with a laser rifle can be really nice, but the wait time between shots is an eternity unless you're an experienced rifleman. It seems even longer when you get one of those low, 100 pt. damage hits, or when you miss. The other weapons are doing less damage per hit, but they're doing it a lot faster.

Do you also have scout? If you don't, get it. It goes great with marksman, unless you just can't spare the points. If you have sufficient scout skills, you can /examine creatures to see their resists and vulnerabilities. Laser weapons won't help much if you're using them on something that has 80% energy resist. And if it has heat vulnerability, then you'll want to use a heat based weapon.

The best way to do lots of damage is to only hit one HAM pool. Open up with a bleed, and just keep using the appropriate attack (action shot1 and then spam leg shot, or health shot1 and then spam body shot, etc.). However, keep in mind that an attack that doesn't directly damage a particular HAM pool will most likely hit the Health pool.

For your rifle use, you may also want to pick up a DLT20a or even a suped up CDEF rifle as backup. I haven't used rifles in a while, but I know that the point blank penalty for the CDEF rifle isn't nearly as heinous as the laser rifle. Swap out your laser rifle for the CDEF when the target is in point blank but only has a few points of mind left.

Also, remember that you take more melee damage if you have a rifle or carbine equipped. What I do if I want to keep using a rifle in point blank is I swap out for a pistol right after my rifle special is done. Before the next qued special comes up, I immediately switch back to the rifle. You'll never catch every attack that way, but you will take a lot less damage.

Ubese is nice for PVE as its special protection is kinetic, which is what you see almost all the time in PVE. Composite can have better Kinetic, but is much heavier on the secondaries and needs a good slice or doc buffs to wear.

Since you don't need Fencer skills to be a Pistoleer, the answer is PvE by default.

Depends on what pve we are talking about. If you just mean normal everyday pve id say fencer, but we are worthless, dmg wise, on all the high lvl content. we can tank it forever lol, but killing it? Schedule accordingly

Also keep in mind most pistoleer specials are broke.I have 2 that are woth using. So if pistoleer is your to liking look at getting BH 0040 or smuggler dirty fighting to compliment you. If you don't want to grind that much pistol, fencer is ok at pve but you should look into swordman or tka if you aren't picky and just want to be effective. Best pve are riflemen, tkm, swordsman and commando is pretty nice. Pike are decent but can be slow and still unaccurate at master and alot of specials are still broke I think.

Not much of a noobie question, basic though, Pistoleer- PvE, Fencer- PvP, with armor that is*

Fencer 0/0/4/0
Bounty Hunter 0/0/4/0
Pistoleer 0/0/4/3
And a couple of other crappy ones....

Both are PvE ass. Pistoleer is pretty much a "support" professions for fencers or anybody wanting the def tree for their template.

PvP, though, they're pretty good. I didn't find the extra dodge worth it though compared to adding TKM.

You lose 2000 per jedi skill point, and you lose up to 200k when you clone depending on how high a skill box you have.
