Im TK 3/2/3/2 currently I have a set of ubeese 74% kenetic and animals are fairly easy, the problem is laser fire
I currently have a set of comp thats about 50% all round I can still handle the animals but laser fire still kills me very easily
im not bitching but how can 2 mobs that are blue to me kill me so quickly, by the time I kill one the other drops me
My question is do I need better armor to defend laser fire?
Noob question but is gun fire energy damage so I need high energy resist armor?
I pvp last night for the first time I was buffed but died with 1 hit from a commando how can I combat this also?
sorry for the noobish questions please dont flame me im just after a little help
Thanks in advance

Ok first off, Buffing helps but isnt everything. As far as commando is concerned they have a very very high damage output but can be knocked down. There is a whole stagity to taking them out but first things first is preparing.
1 Battle can be intense and believe it or not you will feel nervous when in combat, this is called battle stress. Though its a game itspossible for you to not think clear durring this nervousness so get used to the heat of battle.
2 preparing like you mentioned before, like buffing. Get buffed.... this includes mind as well.
3 I like to have some kind of ranged support so i have pistoleer/smuggler skills that can delay delay and knockdown so i can get up close and use TKA skills to finish.
4 work on stragities and know your enemies. Try to identify what your up against and learn thier weakness. Alot of people put up signs like novice carbineer, or TKA student to make you think that you are fighting a totally different class then they reallly are. So recognize who you are fighting and start your stragities against it.
just a little to go on for now... im sure you will pick up other tips along the way to mastering your profession.

What I try to do, is KD and dizzy the humanoid npc asap and them proceed to kill then while they are on their back.

Guns ( pistole, rifle or carbine )can be energy, heat, cold, stun or acid but energy is what you will face more often.
In PvP, rifleman often use a jawa ion rifle which is stun damage ( buy a helm with a stun layer ).

I am currently a Master Rifleman and was wanting a melee profession for PVP. I always thought Pikeman was cool and it was the only melee prof i would consider. My question is what combos are effective in PVP, how effective are they, and what are some macros you have setup for PVP combat? Realize this is not my primary fighting tool, just a helping hand. I also have Master Pistoleer grips and stances for the state defenses.
Thanks for any info you can provide

Macros in pvp are generally not the best idea since situations change rapidly, states may take several tries to get to stick, etc.

Okay first off I am 1.5 boxes of DNA sampling from Master.
I am not Holo Grinding - I already have a Jedi.
I am on Radiant Server.
Okay first question. When you are making an animal there is an additional box for some type of "special" thing. I have seen this box on other schematics & was wondering what it was?
I am still fiddeling with the properties for making animals - like what does what to enhance what - so I will hold off questions there.
Is there any webpages to help understand more of this great profession? I have mastered many crafts since making my Jedi as I am looking to experience new things all the time. There are websites - not swg - to explain out & guide for the other crafts.
Again - I am not ahologrinder & plan on keeping BE for a while. If its as cool as I think it will be I will keeping it for a while. I am working on Master CH at the same time so its really neat to make a pet then use it.
Thanks again

I thikn you're talking about the 'Secret Ingrediant' thing (altho there isn't one for pets, but its there for things like chef additives). We've been told that's there for future use and nothing is dropping that can be used there yet.

If you haven't read the FAQ, please do so. there is a lot of good information there.

Okay I have looked through the FAQ.
Am I missing the following on making pets:
There are 6 slots. Is there a section that explains what these are? I have found & have notes on what most of the sections of a DNA sample correspond to.

If your DNA sample has a "Special attack" is there one slot to put the DNA sample in or do you need multiple samples?
Pricing : I have priced my pets at 1k per level with additional 1k for special attacks. Still working on getting the armor figured out. Is this a good example to follow or is it tooo much??? I find for some reason ANY pet with a poison attack sells fast.

There are 5 slots, Physique, Prowess, Mental, Psychological and Agression. Each one is "primary", but not by any means the entire key to each general characteristic of the pet. I would return to the FAQ and read further, the explanation there is very detailed, and incudes formulas that will help you understand MUCH more about the effect each slot has on each characteristic, it is far too complex to retype here. Suffice it to say that the slots concern the health, action, mind, DPS, and raw damage potential of the template, and the relationship between them is different for each stat. The advice to return to the faq is honestly the best I can offer; with as complex as the relationships are it really takes getting an understanding of them to make the best pets. It will increase your interest in BE - the profession is a puzzle within a puzzle, and very challenging, but very rewarding for that very reason.
