Hang on, correct me if I'm wrong but how can they say in the patch notes that the new cloning system is in when it very clearly isn't? This had better not be more Keldarin ineptitude and he's accidently put the wrong code in or totally forgot to uploaded it to where they compile the TC builds.

Very nice.

Thanks Talthazar. I am (and I am sure every other BE out there) looking to the next publish with as much anticipation as a 5 year old right before Christmas...

Now lets hope Grandma didn't give me more underwear and socks...

Well i can see they have some of the requests we made originally.

But I still dont see crystal snakes, ewoks, graping spider hunters, quenkers, lantern birds, pecko peckos, rasps, or womp rats, or even chubas.

SO anywise....whats the deal??

Are the Creatures Bio-Engineers are going to make only mounts???

And what about scailing...you know the new thing in EQ allows a person to make their Creatures Giant or small. If they make them bigger the creatures either dont have to swim as much or get some bonus' stats....

Oh well I guess changing the scale of something, one of the easiest rendering techniques, is beyond the teams' abilties.

Talthazar,

Super duper site, thanks a ton for doing that. I know that's a lot of work.

It's great to get all these new critters. As others have said there are some glaring omissions though. The biggest of which are the lack of flying creatures, beetle like cretures, or snakes.

Another thing I'm really wondering about is the whole "scaling" thing. Two aspects to it. One is just the visual part. There is a big difference visually between say a squall and a giant squall (basically one looks cool and impressive, and the other looks pathetically wimpy). The other part to it of course is in the stats. Yes, I've read about our ability to control CL level and more control over other aspects of the pet, but our customers are not going to be comparing our Gualamas to wild Gualamas, they are going to be comparing our Gualamas to Dappled Gualamas (or Patriarch, or whatever is the best wild variety) so I hope that is taken into account. If we can't make these base creatures better than the *best* variety in the wild, then they are obviously useless.

Another observation:

it's interesting how they are breaking up the animals by clone level. If we think of these as "shells" like DE you basically have:

novice: bunnies, duckies, and deer

clone 1: zebras, horsies, lizards

clone 2: pigs,kitty cats, dogs

clone 3: elephants, gators, giraffs

clone 4: spiders, big kitties

master: dragons, apes

Hehe, it's kinda cool when looked at in that way. Still doesn't make a whole lot of sense from the desirability standpoint though.
