Thread: BE Bonus Cloths for Taming Vicious and Wild Creatures

Hi,
Im new to the forum but need some explanation. Im a Master BE/ Master CH on Wanderhome. I have made an outfit that gives me a total bonus of +26 on taming vicious and taming wild creatures. However, I havent found or noticed a pet that I couldnt tame as a Master CH that I can now that I wear the outfit. Please tell me what the benefit of the BE cloths for taming wild and vicious creatures are for a Master CH, because as of right now, I see none.

I had one gapping spider hunter full grown cl 44 and viscious
My skills where 3/4/4/4/ so the highest i could tame/call was lvl 45 non viscious
I tried to call it without the tissued clothing No luck
but when I put the clothing on that had the tissues in it I was able to call the spider
So it does help with taming as well
I also did this with a wild gapping spider i was trying to tame
Without I was unable with I was able and i got it on the first try
The tissue was +16 to both visious and wild
The current system won't allow you to attempt to tame a pet if you have less than a 15% chance of success. The CL has some indirect effect on your chances of taming a pet. You cannot call any pet you couldn't tame. Thus, if you were at say 14% chance of taming this critter, you couldn't call it even if you had one given to you. If you put on your special outfit and you now have a 15%+ chance of taming it, you can now use that pet. It's not the CL that changes, it's the taming.
What the heck are you babbling about?
Right now there are two levels, a taiming level and control level.
If the clothing is for taiming it wont make you magically use something you cannot control.
The Person who was talking about he Graping spider Hunter and not being able to pull it out didnt have a control value high enough to use it.
Taiming right now is controlled by one single arm of the Creature handler tree, with control valuses scattered through out the tree, with the second tree giving the most.
Anywise, you control value for have the two level 4s should have been 50, easy enough to taim and use a graping spider hunter.
If you get the whole thing and master it, you get to taim and control up to level 70.
Thats it....the cloth will not effect anything else.
If you dont believe me, i will show you...I am both a Master Creature Handler and a Master Bio-Engineer.
Maybe the changes will make it possible, if you are refering to test center stuff, well i dont know about that.
But I do know all about the live servers.
sheesh...maybe straight bio-engineers would think a story like that is true, but some of use have mastered Creature handler as well.
What they're babbling about isn't made up. The CURRENT ruleset has OVERLAPPING criteria. Creature handlers know this, others do too if they pay attention. The easiest 'popular' thing to test this with, -right now-, is the Graul Mauler. It's a DL 35 or less pet, right?
So, by the LETTER of the current skill system, if you had taming2/training 2 (enough to tame and call a single CL35 or less pet) you should be able to both tame and call a graul mauler, right?
Well, you can't, unless you're a wookie.
Or you're wearing BE enhancements or a skill tape.
Because there's the OLDER system, that said 'You must have X% chance to successfully tame a creature, or you can't even try.' combined with the other old system 'If you cannot possibly tame a creature, you can't Call it'.
The overlap between the two systems is why you can have a pet that's low enough levels to fit under the tame/control caps, but still can't be called (or tamed). it's almost always because the creature has a hard enough target # for taming that it takes a high taming vicious creatures skillmod to have that X% chance (I believe it was set at 15% back in the day). Through BE clothes, skilltapes, wook skillmod, you can get that increased taming vicious, thus be able to actually call a CL35 vicious critter like a graul mauler at taming/training 2.
This has nothing to do with the new skills and tree and creature balance currently on test center, this write up is all about the CURRENT system, and the above rant about how someone's making stuff up. Under the current system, this is easily testable with the assistance of one CH with a transfer-enabled graul mauler, and another CH at 2/2/0/0, which isn't hard to get to. I am very sad for the master CH/master BE who has managed to NOT notice this, though hardly surprised.
A Kusak, for example, cannot be trained by just anyone because it is viscious, if you just have skill 1-1-0-0. I though, as a Wookie can tame them at 1-1-0-0 because I get a 10 bump on that.
Another example is a Rancor. With 4-4-0-4, you have a taming level of 50, but can not tame a Rancor. You need a bump to taming viscious.
I also have a taming bump, and usually have little challenge to taming anything. Although I see others failing 3 and 4 times. When trying to tame a Rancor, if you are in the wild, you wanna do it quickly.. hehe. Or a Gaping Spider Hunter....
I tamed my rancor at 4/4/0/4. If you can't tame it at all you don't get the option to tame, if you can tame it, but only barely it takes a few attempts. Try a BE creature, the system counts every attempt on a pet deed to be a success as long as you qualify. The only thing the BE cloth does is make it easier to use skills, it doesn't qualify you for any new abilities.
I had a guy with 4-4-0-4 that bought a Rancor and could not tame it.
I have had people with 1-1-0-0 not be able to tame a Kusak.
These are facts!
With 1/1/0/0 he didn't have any chance to tame a vicious creature, he had no skill in it. As for the rancor person you might want to check again. EVERYTIME somebody has bought a rancor off of me and complained they couldn't tame it at 4/4/0/4 or whatever it finally came out that they weren't actually there. They were a 4/4 whatever or almost a 4/4/0/4 . I didn't finish off empathy until the night of the mount patch, and I used a rancor for months. I even used one after the patch. If you would like ascreen shot of me with a rancor at 4/4/2/4 let me know.Givemethe namea site that could host it from.

LOL
You forget at level 2 you have a taim of 10 less on viscous things, so that means you cannot taim one of those, thats it.
So that means you can't taim one with that set, but you can control one....actually, wait a second, I have to look to confirm, but at level 1 you only have 15, then at level 1 you get +5 and at level 2 you get +5 again, so in that case you have a 25 I dont think thats enough, unless you are dealing with non-full grown ones.
Which alot of people do.
So anywise, you cannot control a full grown one or tame one.
At that level.
I have to go look at my skills to be sure, but thats the reason.
Does not matter with clothing or not.
The wookie bonus allows them to just taim things higher level, thats about it.
So anywise...Like I said some of the Master Creature Handlers and Master Bio-Engineers know this.
And its very easy to not know these things as just a Bio_Engineer.
Right now, the control points are in different areas of the skill tree for a Creature handler.
The big issue, is not about whether people have a full grown creature, its the fact that the dabblers, can taim anything, only use something till they cannot control it anymore, and thats about it.
Your Clothing thing is an illusion.
Think of it this way, I still cannot call out more then 70 levels of creatures or taim anything beyond level 70, no matter what clothing modifiers I have.
With modifiers on clothing of +60 i still did not have the skill.
And with a Charcater who was a novice on one server, with clothing modifiers +24 they where still unable to taim a greater sludge panther.
So anywise, that proves what the clothing does.
Plageron, there are currently 3 stats that determine pet control, not 2. Daishar had the best explanation of the control stats. Our taming tissues would never let you tame a kimo ever, because they do not raise the CL you can control only the aggressiveness you can tame.
Greenstok, you're customer either did not have 4-4-0-4 as he told you or he was doing something wrong. I tamed both my first wild rancor and first be'd rancor with the same skills. The wild rancor took two hours to tame but it is doable at this level.
There are certain situations where a CH will have high enough skill in 'Max level of pets' and 'Max number of pet levels' to theoretically tame/call a pet, but will not be able to because they're 'taming vicious creatures' skill is too low.
Example. 2/2/0/0 CH has 35 for Max level and Max number of pet levels, but they do not have high enough skill in taming vicious creatures to tame a Mauler. Wookies *are* able to do so at 2/2 because of their racial bonus. From what I understand, any CH with BE'd clothing (10+ or more to taming wild/vicious) will also be able to do so. In effect, BE clothing adds the same benefit as the wookie bonus more or less. Any creatures that wook's can tame earlier then others, a regular CH with BE'd clothing should be able to as well.
Aside from those situations, all it will do is give a higher success rate on things you can already tame (which will probably be the only benefit after the CH changes go in)
Also, it's a very short list of creatures that fall into this category where you have the ability to call that CL level, but not the taming vicious/wild to do it. (so short that the only one I can remember is the Mauler--though I thought either the gnarled or regular rancor fell under that situation as well)
quoting:
You forget at level 2 you have a taim of 10 less on viscous things, so that means you cannot taim one of those, thats it.
/quote...
No. At level 2 I have less SKILL at taming vicious things. My max-level and max-pet-levels skillmods do not care a damned bit about if it's vicious or not (or how vicious it is).
Three skillmods at work:
Max pet levels
Max level of pet
Taming vicious skillmod (works with the old rule of 15% minimum chance to tame to even get the try, combined with the old rule of 'if you can't tame it, you can't call it').
In order to call a creature, all three skillmods have to be high enough.
Perfect low level example:
Graul Mauler
At taming2/training 2, you have:
Taming vicious creatures +10
Max level of pets (highest single pet level): +35
Max pet levels (cumulative out at once): +35
Active tranquilizers give +taming vicious creatures skillmod, do NOT skillmod max level or max pet levels, right? So.
Graul mauler is CL34.
A 2/2/0/0 can control 35 levels of pets at once, one out at a time, with the one pet out having a max level of 35. Right?
But you can't call a Graul Mauler. You can't tame a graul mauler. Because taming vicious creatures at +10 doesn't give you a 15% chance to pull off the initial tame in the first place.
A 3/2/0/0 CH can call a graul mauler.
A 3/2/0/0 CH has +20 tame vicious, 45 max level of pets, 35 max pet levels.
A 2/2/0/0 wookie has +20 tame vicious (10 for tame vicious, 10 for wookiee taming bonus), 35 max level of pets, 35 max pet levels. They can call a graul mauler. The difference is in the tame vicious, see?
A 2/2/0/0 non-wook with Active tranquilizers on can have higher than +10 taming vicious, and can suddenly call a graul mauler.
You can extend this to the gaping spider hunters (CL45, but just having 45 max levels/max pet level isn't enough), and one of the mereks too.
It's clearly demonstratable that -right now- there are three skillmods that actually control what you can call/tame, though only two apply in most situations, and only that third situational mod can be altered by BE tailoring.
Not two.
Yet you insisted on mocking people who said there was anything beyond the level-based skillmods most recently introduced, and mocked master BEs for trying to fabricate stories and pass them off as truth.
Fie on you. Get some facts before you try to tear people down for stating them accurately.
