Thread: DNA SAMPLING. WOW! IT SUCKS! BAD!
The last line I finished was DNA Sampling, but I ground through levels 3 and 4 quickly. Here's what I discovered to get through DNA Sampling quickly:
- Go to Dantooine and pick up 2 bol missions at least 150m apart. Bols offer 300 or more XP per sample, and bols don't deathblow.
- Run to the first one, sample your little guts out, BUT DON'T DAMAGE THE NEST. If you get incapped, rest for a bit, then start sampling again.
- Once all of the "start-up" creatures at that nest are dead, rest, then run to thesecond one.
- Sample that one, then rest andrun back to the first one. As long as you're 150m or so out, the nest respawns (because it's a mission) the "start-up" group of critters.
- Repeat ad nauseum.
You can run back and forth between these two bol missions until your legs fall off or your patience gives out. each spawn gives you about a K or more of sampling XP. It goes quickly.

To holocron bio-engineers lets just point something out here, your not part of the profession because you wanted to do it. Your here because a little box to you to master it, therefore those people who actually care about the profession don't give a rats ass if you have a complaint cause we know your just using the profession to get to being a Jedi. Once you actually care about the profession then we'll care about your opinion.
As for sampling exp, it's fine. This is an elite profession so they aren't supposed to be mastered within a month of grinding unless your totally hardcore.
Like i said i joined durring the great DNA sampling nerfage, i picked up the profession on a alt character to make custom pets for my main, and lo and behold the profession kinda grew on me like some sorta sick fungus (MUST MAKE PERFECT RANCOR! gurgle) I can see already with the upcomming patch from test server im going to end up crafting and experimenting with more pet combinations for my main and for guild mates than playing my MCH (MUST MAKE PERFECT DURNIE OF DEATH! *choke*), ill never give it up even if my wife starts playing her character again ill beg her to keep it so i can use it.
The hologrinders comming through here dont bother me, we gave them a thread(beutifully well written too)to follow to grind there way in and out of here without bothering the rest of us with thier opinions on how bad off we have it. We dont need to hear it, im not bashing you im just stating a fact, weve lived it, some of us have lived it for a long long time and have put up with it, its one of the charms of the class is that its just plain HARD AS **edit** to master. It takes a special kinda masochist to grind up all that and stick around while your waiting on the patch to come through, we dont need to hear it from the drop ins. Serriously were good to go on the complaints dept, that was last month we shout our verbal wad, no need to stir up the old flames since were getting the mother of all bandaids.
Im not gonna say "dont let the door hit you in the ass on the way out", but just so you know, im thinkin it. Godspeed and may your next holocron not say chef.
It took me two weeks to master. I must be a super mega master grinder, lol. Of course that was weeks ago and I'm still a master BE. I ground out the proffession because I wanted to make quality products, and lets face it a novice BE can't make much thats usefull to anybody with the exception of a mount, but that craze is over, and today I don't know if I'll use my mount anymore.

I do respect the people who like being a Bio-Engineer. Too bad there are only 2 creatures that are any good for fighting. The Gurreck is nice and so is the Kimogila(although you can't you it.). So there is really only 1 pet worth anything. I guess you could make mountable creatures, but who doesn't have a mount yet.
I can see where this profession could be awesome. Right now it is just so so. Tissues for clothes are cool, but creatures suck and DNA Sampling is one of the hardest XP to Master.
Woah I figured this was a time warp to a several months old post but the date is Dec 15th 2003. Read the patch notes hehe
