Thread: what are you going to be after this goes live?
I'm having fun in WoW, but it's not like the oldschool SWG days.
I think I'm just going toplaycasually andslowly quit MMOs all together. I'll try out the NGE, but even if I like it and stay, I suspect my fate will be the same.
Well what every you are going to be better take this into consideration ...
How does respec work?
When an existing player logs in they will get a Profession selection window. They MUST select a new profession.
- If you choose Trader or Entertainer then they will get all the skills of each profession (i.e. maxed).
- If you choose any of the combat professions you will be advanced to the exact same COMBAT LEVEL that you were at before the NGE went live.
A "Character Respec Device" will be created in every character’s inventory with 10 “charges.” Examining it will show the combat level the respec item will be set to when you use it. This is the level they will be set to when they use the respec device if they select one of the 7 combat professions. After using the device 10 times it will delete itself and no longer be usable.
I'm going to give it a try, but lack of flexibility makes me think I'll get bored a lot sooner.
Anyway, so far Spy looks the most interesting. I've tried out Smuggler and Jedi. I like the idea of being able to sneak around and steal things from NPC's. I wonder if it will live up to the old sampling days as far as thrill goes? Well...maybe, maybe not. Seems a level 80...or 90 even, can beat up just about any NPC in game without breaking much of a sweat. ![]()
a paladin in wow *sigh*
I was once a proud id and tailor. They ruin the crafter professions now.

Since BE never had a true CL level... You won't be able to respec into a combat profession fully.... Isn't this just another slap in the face...
If you are planning on sticking around get yourself to level 80 or you will be stuck at level 17,18, 55, whatever level you are at now.
If you haven't used your token respec, do so around the 13/14th so that you make respec to a level 80 toon. If you want to become a crafter after trying all the other profs, at least you will be a level 80 crafter as opposed to a level 1 or 17....
Save one of your respecs just in case the mass exodus leads to yet another revamp....
Up till then I will continue to play the game I have loved, for over 2 years, with my friends and my pets.

Cancelled 2 accounts and am moving to WoW on the 15th. Will only need one account to do that and it's cheaper anyway. Ok - it's NOT StarWars but at this stage of the game - who cares. All I want is a stress free play now - I won't ever invest so much love and immersion in a game again. I am cured - I have seen the "other" side and it's on TC.

That's what I thought when they cancelled Earth and Beyond. It was a silly and mindless game but we get attached to our little guys. Came to SWG determined just to try it out and .... well ... you know the rest - you've been there - all of you.
If it isn't engaging and immersive enough to make us fall in love with our characters I doubt we will be playing it for long.
Last time this happened to us, we decided to write our own game. That didn't get very far. It takes an insane amount of effort to make even a simple game. But I fear it is the only possible way to get over the 'Game Experiences may change during play' or whatever the wording is warning.
