Overmy experiencein obtaining Installations IV, Buildings III, I've come to base my pricing around just enough to replace my resources used for a structure, plus a small extra to compensate for Critical Failures. This strategy has worked well for me on Naritus, typically it has equaled out to 5:1 credits:resources. Now that I've begun pumping out some of the higher end items I've upped this to 5:1 plus 25% due to the lack of Architects available to produce some of the finer items, and the nature of the typical customer out for high end wares. I have yet to find a player that really had a problem with my pricing scheme once past the initial sticker-shock, when you break down where your pricing comes from people become understandable.

When you're new to Architecture, giving deals to generate work, especially if it involves the customer providing resources is very benefitial. As you advance, definately make sure you start adding a margin for profit into your work.

Furniture is completely different from normal structure pricing. People WILL pay a LOT higher credit:resource ratios for furniture. I've sold furniture capable of being crafted by a Novice Architect for 3k+. Sell housing on the cheap end to suck people in, then kill them on the furniture. =)

It dont matter what the price is really. There is a person on my server who puts a house on the bazaar for 100cr (auction) then advertises he sells houses for 5k each. Totally screwing every one else. When people are selling 1 unit of ore for 5-10x its value then its resonable to ask people to pay 4-6x the cost of the house. Good luck trying to get some one to buy a house for that.Correct me if Im wrongbut when the heckdid a suite of armor cost 5x the amount of a house?? Or that new gun is double the price of a house??

We've all discussed prices on houses and major items created by Architects, but I was curious as to what everyone is selling smaller items for. Such as Personal Harvesters, Crafting Stations, etc. I'm on Rori, Intrepid and I can sell Personal Harvesters for around 2,000 credits and crafting stations a bit higher. Feel free to weigh in on these or anything else you may be selling.

Crafting Stations I sell for 1k right now. This is the price just for the base unit without any of the additional equipment.

"Crafting Stations I sell for 1k right now"

450 items and 1k? thats odd, 1 unit is around 5-10credits each, the least you could do is sell them, for 2k. but 1k? Your killing the market. Glad your not on my server. No offense but I worked VERY hard to get to Architect.

I like your price list.. im slightly lower in some areas.. slightly higher in others. Ive also got a secondary price list that i call "rush order pricing" where i dont have the materials but he wants it NOW!!!! I tell him what i can make it for based on current bazaar prices. On Corbantis we have some sellers that have Carbonate ore for sale for 10 credits. At the least i saw Carbonate at 5 credits per.

So what i do is say "carbonate is between 5-10 credits.. i can get most at 5 but some i have to buy at 10.. ill call it an average of 7 credits. With todays player market your small house is gonna run you 24k and yuour medium chem extracter will be 85k." Once their jaw gets off the floor i explain to them that this is the market.. Either you wait till i harvest enough, pay this or go see a PA and get on their waiting list for 2 to 2.5 credits per ore. Ore sellers are whacked if they think their prices are feasible for architects. However.. a weaponsmith that needs a fraction of the materials will gladly pay 10 per ore cause they can charge 50 per ore and make a profit. Translation.... the market is skewed and its a mess. the more architects undercut, the less competitive we can all be. I can burn through what i mine in about an hour. Although i like to play longer than that.. i cant so what im doing now is using Architect to finance Weaponsmith training. Frankly the way things are going.. without changes.. only a multi account/PA architect can compete /shrug. So be it.. id prefer it wasnt that way but not a lot i can do about it.

For the record.. "IF" people sold for 3 credits per ore and IF i could sell for 4 credits per ore.. is that not fair? The limited amount of stuff i can harvest per day for cheaper rates on own makes up for the lack of markup and the crit fails etc. On Corbantis that isnt even competitive... i saw a guy selling medium chemical extracters for 20k last night. Cant compete with that at all.

I've been charging 4 credit per resource for installations. I'm running 25 harvesters on 3 accounts and I'm runing out. I'm having to raise my prices (just a tiny bit) to keep stuff in stock.

Maybe the architect economy on some other servers is messed up, or maybe some people here don't know how to price stuff.

Here are my current prices:

Factory 55k
Heavy Harvesters: Chem/Flora/Gas 110k. Mineral 120k. Moisture 35k.
Medium Harvesters: Chemical/Flora/Gas: 35k. Mineral/Moisture: I don't bother.
Guild Halls: 350k. Haven't sold any at that price, but I don't care.
Large House: 150k.
Medium House: 80k. Don't sell many at that price, but I don't care.
Fusion Power: 110k.

I sell most furniture for 5-6 credits per unit, and I'm raising my prices because I think I'm setting the price too low.

Here are a few tips:

1. Get merchant up to Advertising 3. Set up some vendors, sell furniture as a sideline. It gets your name out there.

2. Be firm on your prices. You'll get undercut on occasion, but there is still (on Gorath at least) strong demand for heavy harvesters. About half my inquiries go nowhere, but I get my price on the other half.

3. Keep crates of materials for heavy harvesters ready to go. I can deliver a heavy harvester within 15 minutes of receiving an order. Today I turned around an order for 1 fusion and 2 heavy moisture in 20 minutes. The customer gladly paid a good price for prompt service.

4. Be ready to work on short notice. There are plenty of people who will pay 110k for a fusion plant 1 hour from now rather than waiting for 3-4 days until one of the undercutters has capacity.

Being an architect pays quite well (on Gorath anyway), but you have to know how to run an efficient operation, and you have to gear up to where you can mass-produce heavy harvesters. And, by the way, there is basically no money in housing or medium mineral harvesters.

Short-term, I'm finding things comfortable. In the long run, eventually the party WILL be over because the thing's dont delay - THAT is our big problem.
