it should have a range of 10m. it should be a quested item, and should take place on Yavin IV, since that is where they are located. And obviously, only MBE should make them.
This would be soooo sweet to have. If the jedi's cry nerf, they can lick me.....

The beauty of this would be if they drain force Jedi wouldn't be able to spam specials in range of one. They would have to auto attack, no force run, no healing, they would only be able to perform a default attack. This would be a huge boost for sales and CHs.

Ysalamiri are from the planet Myrkr mentioned and visted in Timothy Zahn's book Heir to the Empire(Got the book in front of me now)

In the books anyway GA Thrawn had stormtroopers equiped with custom made backpacks to carry the Ysalamiri, each had a six to twelve meter bubble and they reforced each other to spread make the bubble bigger(From the book)

And yes they don't affect Lightsabers but they do affect Jedi pretty damn good

Ingame terms?

(Just some ideas)

When in the field

-Lightsaber Accurasy(Can't be one with the weapon if you don't have the Force)

-No Lightsaber Block

-No Force Power use on the anyone in the field or ANY Force power use while in the field(No choke, no Forcepush and Forcerun comes to a screetching halt)

-You can saber throw but you can't get the saber back till you go pickit up or it gets out of the field

Sorry Capt Adder...I thought it was on Yavin IV. Although, it might be in a different book as well. But definitely, you understand what it is, and why we need this....

ok, here is the official post from the Star Wars Website regarding Ysalamiri:

Sessile tree-dwellers from the obscure planet of Myrkr, the ysalamiri are among the most bizarre creatures of the galaxy. As part of a defensive mechanism that protects them from Force-sensitive pack animals called vornskrs, the ysalamiri have developed the unusual ability to "push back" the Force.

Ysalamiri are small, furry salamander-like creatures no larger than 50 centimeters long. Their long claws grow directly into the cores of the branches they inhabit, drawing nutrients from the mineral-rich trees. It takes special knowledge to successfully remove an ysalamiri from a branch without killing it.

A single ysalamiri creates a bubble in which the Force cannot be manipulated. In groups, the size of the bubble increases. Vast areas in which the Force cannot be used cover Myrkr.

Five years after the Battle of Endor, Grand Admiral Thrawn used ysalamiri in a cunning plan to topple the New Republic. Imperial engineers fashioned a special nutrient frame that allowed ysalamiri to be transported and kept alive once removed from the trees.

Thrawn used the ysalamiri in order to secure the allegiance of Dark Jedi Joruus C'baoth. With ysalamiri in place, Thrawn would have a distinct advantage over Force-sensitives like C'baoth, Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa Solo. Thrawn also discovered that strategically placed ysalamiri employed in Spaarti-based cloning chambers eliminated the clone madness caused by the disruption of identical Force patterns inherent in Spaarti clones. By using ysalamiri in his vast cloning facility in Mount Tantiss on Wayland, Thrawn was able to grow adult clones in a fraction of the recommended time.

Now....we can make the creatures themselves...and have Master Artisans make the apparatus to hold them. I mean come on...does any master artisan actually use a Neimodian Bird Cage for anything?? Therefore they can use that as the holding apparatus.

Is this something that we want to pursue as a BE COmmunity to the DEVs??

Just curious.

Hey All,

We should have the ability to pass on Force Strike or Force Plague onto the pets. This will make us more valuable against them, as well as make CH needed again.

Or, they can give us Ysalamiri, the pets the have inherent force draining powers that are mentioned in the EU.

We need this!!!

Ysalamiri would freaking rock. lol, you would see a big time return of the BH/CH were this to happen

Yes I think this is something that needs to be pursued. BE and CH need a shot in the arm. CH is nearly worthless in PvP, if they had a creature like this that only master, and the master would have to perform a quest to use this animal, they would be of use in PvP without unbalancing anything. This would provide an effective counter to Jedi while allowing allowing Jedi to get more power for their profession. If they made saber block work for melee also then the only way to counter a jedi would be to have Ysalamiri or be close to one, if they lowered LS block. It would allow CH to be a support character in the GCW without throwing everything out of whack. BHs could master CH to counter jedi while they were hunting them. I think this would be great.

Well, I dont know what that add for foods was doing in here...lol

Can we get a response from our Community Leader on this? What they think? Im still not getting a good feeling that the BE community is behind this. Just curious as that what the majority think.

BEs,

Having the Ysalamiri will NOT affect the lightsaber.... The affects of the creatures drain the force powers of the jedi. Therefore they cannot do any special force powers, howvever, the lightsaber will still hit, and hit hard depending on the lightsaber.

/sign since no one really seems to care about the story line anyways, bring em on.

This seems like an insidious plot to get me to make pets, and it would work
