I had a pre-patch dewback I tamed and gave to a friend who'd just started playing and told him I'd mount-train it when it was old enough.

Anyway, it remained at level 0 for some time, despite its stats increasing (i.e. it WAS growing) and I was eventually able to mount-train it. He'd been using it in combat too and he sent me a tell the other day to say it now read as Level 7...
