I cant believe what they are doing to our proffesion. that means basically all my non-ch pets on my vendor will be invalid, which is great as i just made a batch of 20 10k health lvl 9 and 10's.......w00t. going to go on now and give it a try.
First off, the whole 'invalid pet check' thing isn't new. Secondly, your CL 9 or 10 10K Health pets shouldn't be valid anyway and are planned for nerfdom.
What makes you think they should be "nerfed"? Just because the HAM is high does NOT make it a good pet...what about resists, armor, damage, specials, etc....all of the combination of these things are what makes it a better pet....what makes it a CH pet rather than non-ch.
If they keep "nerfing" the pets, BE's will not be needed....if you can only make a pet as good as one in the wild, what is the point?
As for the invalid pet thing....was the skin that of an aggressive creature? That could be the reason for the invalid.
Very true. However the HAM of a wild CL10 pet is usually around the 1000 mark. A 10k HAM pet with 0 effective resists is still a hell of a lot better than a 1k HAM pet with 0 effective resists.
Not to mention the fact that you can easily find a recipe for a level 10 animal with 10k health and 50% kinetic resists. Which is a candidate for nerfing whichever way you spin it.

I think you may be a little confused, HAM does not = power...all of the cl10 creature I have gotten to reach HAM10k, the damage they do is less than half that of a creature in the wild. It is a trade off, it doesn't mean the creature is "strong", it just means it has a different strength than another creature that may hit really hard with very little HAM...
I don't think there is anything wrong with the BE pet crafting system. It takes a lot of work to get a really good pet, that was how it should be. The devs have already revamped the CH/BE profession...they should leave it alone.
Most pets are used to tank, not deal damage (especially non-ch pets)so a low damage 10K HAM CL 10 is a VERY strong pet for someone not spending skill points.
You may feel there's nothing wrong with a BE pet able to take 10 times the damage of a wild creature of the same level, but the DEVs (and majority of the BE's here) do. We've been told they aren't intended, they are too strong, and will be adjusted. That's all there is to it.
