Get a droid with a Food/Chem station inside and you should be good to go for crafting in the wild. I generally pull acamp and then sit there andcombine my DNA samples into templates (which you can rename if it makes it easier for you to track). I get some scout xp and some healing done this way.

It's a video game. Relax. And, maybe, share some knowledge...

Meh, it's no different from someone who followed a "grind guide" to Master a crafting prof. The respec just makes it a faster and doesn't use up resources. Even before the respec, the crafting boards would always have a few "Ok, I ground to Master, how do I make good {whatever}" posts.

I do agree with you, though. When the CU hit I decided to take up more combat. I ignored the respec and just went out and killed things to get unarmed and 2-handed xp (I'm trying out TKM + MS). That makes the learning curve much easier, since I wasn't stuck with a new system on top of 15 brand new abilities and no clear idea on what they do.

I may just remove the temptation of the token respec and move an artisan box over to scout or something. Plus that'll get rid of the annoying popup that won't take "Later" for an answer.

"mScout/mCH/mBioE gives a CL of 58."

And if yougo for this you will have 18 sp left - putting them in ranger will0030 will allow you to track and put yourCL up to 61.

One thing people forget with the new CU - weapon use is now primarily dependant on CL (withsome of the better weapons restricted by class). With the above template I can carry a laser carbine (required CU 54, no marksmanship skill requirements) - despite having no marksman skills whatsoever (even the basic box). This enables me to do as much damage as my pet (with the simple "fire command" - no overcharging or the like). This isjust below the point that I'll pull aggro from my pet, so I can solo CL 65-68 critters (like noxious kamuriths! ) - although if I get an add it's time to run.

If they ever fix creatures specials and traps the CU will actuallyhave markedly increased my combat capability, despite my "non-combatant"template.

Incidentally - provided you are cold blooded about your pets, I've found that burstrun and the pet set on guard will keep me alive if a whole nest of critters decide they object to being sampled.

I haven't died in quite a while (although I've had a fair few "disposable heroes" munched!).
