Thread: A depressing experiment

Since the speed rating on BE pets is no longer showing, I'm inclined to think this is a bug. They're acting like they have a speed rating of zero (one because of the cap). I wouldn't count on this being that way forever, well, except for all the attention we know BE gets...
If BE pets truly are getting one less slot and potentially 2 less slots if a wild pet has a special, how is this something the devs wouldn't like? Not all CH would want free frenzied blitz 3, especially if your building up a tank pet, fast BE hit speed is a pretty nice advantage but your still losing an ability slot you might otherwise want for it.

well you coudl go tame a pet with a free ability (evn if tis elv 3 current info suggests youd ned to teahc it lev1 and lev 2 as well to get full effect(for some abilities at elast) and teahc it 7 tanking abilities (say vig health 1-3 plus leve 1-2 of your preferd def boosting skill plus lev 2 agression)
option 2 get a be pet stuff its speed and damage we're making a tank here boost agression defence health, if you get the dna right you jsut got a free leve 3 vig health, lev 1-2 def ability and lev 103 agression (not sure how much the trained ability adds) sure you lost 1 ability slot bout you gained the effect of arond 6, and you can go add 6 more coudl boost armour instead of defence and gain a bonus trher instead if you prefered
for a dma pet the same can hold, be wise boost dam, to hit, state resists (hlep keep intimidate off for instance) adn th eobvious health, youll get far mre thna 1 free ability slot form this and a fr more specilised pet
be pets can be far more focused on a specific role thna a wild one ever could be, sure they lose 1 ability slot but they cna get the effect of far mroe than one slot amnd then go trian those effects again
Thanks for all the replies folks.
After a lot of thought I guess my original question came down to "Am I getting enough out of BE now to continue with the profession (after 2 years as MBE) given the immense SP investment in it?"
With the changes to specials I decided that since I can now customise my pets more with my MCH skills, continuing with MBE justwasn't worth it and re-specced into MCM (it's a novelty being invited to group now!).
If they hadretained some "physical" specials, which could only be added by BE (poison, claws and the like) then I'd probably have stuck with MBE. My own fighting style depreciates the use of pets as tanks and damage dealers (with NO combat skills I could outdamage a dam 415 BE'd pet FFS!) and consequently attack speed, hit points, armour, etc are, for me, of far less import than the specials the pets can land. With MCM, well stim-packs are aadded bonus that I can live without if necessary and my CL has gone up from 61 to 80 (a big, big bonus!)
My "held" backup account can always be re-activated if I come to really regret the decision - but it doesn't seem that likely.
Once again, thanks for the comments and best of luck to all those BE's who stick with it.

Don't you people ever read these boards? Or do you just post? (Not supposed to sound rude, just a question). I don't know how many times this piece of information has been posted, reposted, postposted, uberposted, underposted, overposted, and even stickied....
Now THAT is a fair, thought-out question. I wish I could answer it for you, bro. But, you know, this IS a game, which should be fun and enjoyable, so do whatever you need to so that it stays like that for you.
Good Luck!
