Haha. Good one.

if i could hold my breath for inhuman amounts of time, i'd go so far as to wish for the ability to combine different pet skins.

Well now that the NDA is lifted on Beta and we are allowed to discuss content and such, I was not shocked to see nothing for BioE added with this expansion. I will faithfully be BioE till the very end and can only hope that we will be given something to benefit our profession. You blatantly hurt our pet sales with the size "fix". I rarely sell any level 10's anymore. If NPC's can create altered versions of creatures (like in the geo caves for example) then why can't we (people with brains for the most part) be able to create something new. I am in favor of new skins, and if not new skins then at least something to mix up our pets so we all don't have the same stuff on our vendor. Maybe like add features (read: the old specials but better) to the dna. So you go and get some Rancor DNA for armor abilities, get Narglatch DNA for physical movement speed, DNA from the klikniks from the geo caves for the explosive blast fireballs. These are all very radical changes that could be made.

NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT FLAME FOR FOLLOWING COMMENT. ONLY USED AS COMPARISON

I know many professions have asked for updates and changes and revamps and few get what they want. Lets say smugglers for example. They have deserved a revamp for a very long time and while they have gotten some small changes here and there, it is nothing of what they desired, but it did change things up for a bit. I personally like the new customization feature for weapons. While we too have gotten little things here and there, it hasn't been anything of use or something that wasn't already in the game. Okay so we can craft meds now, big deal they were there beforehand. Okay so we got the size change in relation to the CL of the pet. Great now all the MCH's can run around with overgrown deranged Easter Bunnies (durnis, squalls). The point of the whole size change was to what? Give us some variety in our pets? Pffft. I see it more as a hinderance. You have to think about how big the pet will be in relation to its natural counterpart. Regardless of whether we were the last prof to make it into the final release of the original game or not, the devs saw some importance for our profession and it is a shame that we like many others are left on the backburner. Please just give us some more skins to play with, even if they are not from the newer planets and are only flying creatures or snakes. Please let us have them before I go insane and try to make my own pet skins from my RL pets (here kitty kitty).

I support the non-flaming of this post and everything in it.

Seems as if BE changes were ONLY made as adjustments to other professions to be honest. It makes no sense at all to me that they would want to do away with the ability to have BE made mounts. It was a good stream of revenue for CH's. Buy a bunch of deeds, customer wants one? There is one ready made in deed form NOT taking up preciousspace in their datapad. Pop open the deed, train it, give it to the customer and tell it to come back in 10 days for mounting (or whenever). Everyone was happy.

People are NOT happy with the size changes and we know they were put in there on purpose. I don't mind a small change of size per level around the full - grown size but the huge change of size makes no sense at all (wild's are excluded from the change and that's not right) and I see it as a blatant targetting of BE's. And nobody likes oversize CH's pets in groups getting in your face ...

Not that I'm saying anything at all new here and no amount of putting things forward to the dev team seems to work.

I guess the non-ch's were complaing about the cost of Non-CH mounts. "You mean I have to buy it from you, and then pay a CH to train it for me?" I don't know what other BE's sold their pets for, but I kept with my pricing system of (CL x 750cr). So my Level 10's were a measly 7.5k. I mean one mission can more than make up for that. I guess the reason we aren't getting any new pet skins from mustafar (other than the fact that we never do) is because almost all creatures on mustafar are in the 60+ range. So even if we could make stuff from there, they would be so itty bitty that they would be nearly impossible to see. Course that might be an advantage in PVP, if they have to TAB to target it rather than clicking, would they notice it at all since it is so small?

On a side note and not to hijack my own thread but is there a speed difference for larger and smaller sizes? I mean if you had a level 10 Narglatch and Level 70 Narglatch, would both run at the same speed? That would be an interesting hidden nerf.

Has a Dev ever responded to the new skins question? I might even be happy with a "We are aware of the issue and are working on it response". However, if they never plan to add more skins, I wish we could be told so we wouldn't get more carpal tunnels by typing out long posts.

Even though I do not post as much or frequent the forums as much, it saddens me that you are leaving. Everytime I did some research or looked up something on the BioE forums, your name was in one of the posts. If you ever want to be BioE again, you can always come to Valcyn. Our server isn't packed to death but our population is growing.

I know this makes no difference to the Dev's but even they must comprehend the fact that if they ignore players and players drop certain professions because of no new content, that it will most surely hurt the game overall. There is a ton of content for the combat professions, even if it's not a challenge to them, it's something they can do. They have the big main quests, side quests and mini quests and it's sad to think that the majority of the side and mini quests go unplayed. I know 4 Jedi that once templated decided to quit the game because they were bored and had nothing to do.

I guess the reason why they don't give us good content with good rewards is the fact that if a crafter could do it, then so could everyone else and then the rarity of the reward would be no more. Why not make missions for crafters that would involve...........crafting things dare I say? There are missions at the village that require you to craft things, so why can't there be other story driven quests outside of the realm of FS and Jedi that would require crafting or sampling 5 rancors or getting Dathomirian milk or something. The know-how is there. The code is there, they just have to alter it a bit to where it can apply to crafters.

As long as I play I will try to fight for this to get this implemented (even if I am just a lowly player and not a Corr or a Dev.)

Skins and crafter only content is what we NEED.

First off Dor its sad to see you go, but I understand all to well as I droped Bioe a few weeks back now for many of these saem reasons. I hope to return to it one day should they fix it, but till the we shall wait and see.

Now many of you know BioE was the last proffesion to be added to the game and when SOE went live with galaxies BioE was still very broken. At that time most of our tissues didnt work right or had components we had to loot to get like milk and mollusk. about a year into it we got our current pet crafting system and a fix so we could use factories (oh the good old days of all hand crafted BioE items). Later comes the shelffish harvesting tool quest and milking wild animals, yeah. During this whole time other proffesions got revised and repaired as well. Then came a shift in the DEV's thinking it seemed the only updates came for combat proffesions and JEDI. Next thing you know we have the combat upgrade, and a bunch of new quests the make many crafters usless as you can get a better quest item than a crafted one. Heck you even get a speeder from a beginner quest now, I remember having to walk everywhere!!!

What I'm trying to say is BioE's where an after thought to the DEV's. For a while there seemed to be at least one DEV that took and intreast in us but seems he's gone or his/her voice is overshadowed. What they dont think about is what will all the JEDI and such say when there is no more BioE clothing or foods to be had anymore? This is slowly happening as many of us are droping BioE or droping the game all together. The DEV's need to make content for all the crafters as well as the entertainers that is attanable by them without the help of a CL80. If not the whole player based economy will fall and the crafters will leave the game!

The Mustafar CH thing was the final blow for me. I don't know why but it seems clear to me that the game expects you to keep progressing up to level 80. Which you would expect if you were a low-level character in a game where being a low-level character meant you had been playing not very long. SWG is not that kind of game. One day I can be a level 80 and then I can turn around and pick up a bunch of crafting professions and be a level 1. But suddenly I am punished for it, for choosing to be anything other than a bounty hunter/combat profession and/or a jedi padawan.

Last night I dropped my BE down to 0404 not because I am a big tissue and meds maker but because the tailors in town (all alts) don't need to be stuffed by my decision to drop BE. Not before I have a chance to make them tissues and maybe some meds with the stuff their combat 80's have looted.

I will not be making pets anymore. I will probably have a BE again somewhere but not as my main character on my main server on live. Not on Wanderhome since my Dorelli there is now a Hoof and Horn Employee (but NOT a BE) and is working herself up to being a good help to Belisama. Probably on Test Center where my 3 most neglected toons live. Or maybe on Naritus where my Dorelli there was planning to grind up to master BE in order to make Spazzers a CL70 giant gnort as a suprise. But ... um... he went away so there seemed no point.

I look forward to seeing what the devs will do as they revamp crafting. I realize that most of this problem comes from the combat upgrade BEING a COMBAT upgrade ... everything else was tweaked in order that we were not completely broken, but there must be some kind of overall PLAN to make the game interesting again for everyone.

The bandwagon has come for me and I am jumping on it's very full platform to take my place amoung the combat medic/bounty hunter padawan wanna-be's. I will be around on forums ... you'll not get rid of me that easy.

Sorry to hear that you dropped most of BE door (not that i wasn't expecting it anyway), i myself as you know (seeing as i jumped off of chim and landed in your town on fin hehe) have given up using my BE now, i just can't bare to log him on anymore, the proffession has just lost it's magic for me.

P.S. If you do go all the way to removing BE from Dorelli don't worry too much about tissues, i'm happy making and selling my costumes in our wonderful little town i don't need BE'd tissues hehe )

I know that a Dev has responded to a BE concern. More than 6 months ago, all correspondants were allowed to post 3 (three) and only three questions. Arthurdent posted ours. They are somewhere around. Size was not one of them because at that time (just barely post-CU) pet making was completely and utterly broken. We had DNA where almost everything had a fortitude of 1000 and the old pet making system and so you'd get armor on almost everything and the combat level went thru the roof.

We were not in a position at that time to ask about things we didn't know were going to be done to us.

I do not think that there have been any devs addressing our concerns since then since if there were then Lammergeier would have posted them. And not just the skin concerns but ALL of the concerns.
