FYI, there's currently a bug that allows you to use WDG tools for anything.

Yup, which is what I use. Saves having 2 lots of tools in my inventory.

I know it was already posted here, but yes if you make Broad Spectrum Nutrients you will get more XP per combine, BUT you need to be near a crafting station to have this schematic show up, which in turn mess up any crafting macro you may have set up (at least it did for me). Another good way is to keep making your generic DNA templates while sampling instead of practicing or destroying them. Using them to make Rontos or Razor Cats give a good deal of XP ( I think razor cat uses 155 resources + your template). This requires a personal crafting station however. Finally, I found that multisaccharide pentamate gives the most xp per combine (about 300+) and takes Berries + Creature food + Milk. So if you have a lot of milk to waste, this is nice for a quick XP boost, however you will still need a Personal crafting station and macros wont work. Hope this helps.

I just finished BE and unlocked with it (yay, me!). I wanted to add that to do the DNA sampling tree, I did what i posted above. I grinded yard trash for the first 2 boxes, then moved to dantooine and did bol missions for the last 2 boxes.

In the grinding thread listed above it says to do pikets. While pikets do give a little more XP (about 375 per) than Bols (300-325) I found i was getting aggroed more by the pikets. (i tried about 10 lairs worth) It could have been just bad luck, I dont know, but i stuck with theBols. another advantage to doing Bols over Pikets is that bol missions dont spawn babies (or at least they didnt spawn any while i was doing them) while piket missions were spawing them left and right.

Also Im wondering if I should have left the city after DNA 1. the last 2 boxes went faster that the first 2. grinding out dna sampling 2 at 85-101 xp each mob seemed to take forever.

Good luck everyone!

no, not for micronutrient suplements or Broad Spectrum Nutrients. there are other items in the tissue tree that may give more xp, but those items DO require specific types of flora and meat.

Actually, it does matter what kind of flora, you need flora food. Now, there are ONLY 2 types of flora, flora food and flora structural, and flora food is about 10x as common as flora structural. That said, if you do try to use flora structural it will only work for the Organic slot, it won't work for the Flora Food slot. So, your best bet is just to find a cheap flora food and stick with it.

Not that I've ever seen large quantities of cheap flora structural, but hey, just want to make shure the poor soul doesn't go dig up 200k of dantooine soft wood and discover it only works in one slot on their grind schematic.

Fungus is usually the cheapest and most abundant type of flora food I've found. A lot of grains too.

You should actual switch to Food/Chem tools now...

I'm starting to wish that I would've sampled pickets from day 1 after getting BE because at 300 xp a pop, and that out of a single lair I can get somewhere between 9-15 samples, and 10k creds... well it just makes life so much easier.

What I did tonight is do picket missions, get milk from the picket, and after the 2nd or 3rd milk notification sample dna from the picket. After a couple hours I've gotten 25k sampling xp, about 2k milk (I didn't realize you could milk pickets) and about 100k credits... so by the time I hit the 80k needed for sample 4, I'll have enough to pay for my meat order (70k meat at 5 cpu) which I'll use to grind up the other trees.

BTW, to the jerk off who went through all the posts in this thread and 1-stared them, get a life.

Doh! your right, I wasnt even thinking about wood. yea stick with corn, wheat, oats, fungus, etc... they are all plentiful and usually pretty cheap for the low quality stuff.
