Thread: Something to look forwards to, Talth is going to need our help with this
Blood Samples are similar to the old DNA bank idea. Two easy ways to do it:
1) A mobile tool you carry around like a surveying tool. When you successfully take a sample, the numbers for that sample are recorded in that tool, no item is created. When you want the sample to craft with, you hit a button and it creates the dna sample item. Saves database and inventory space. Probably have to limit it to 25 or 50 samples or something like that.
2) A stationary machine like a vendor. When you get back from a hard day of dna sampling, you 'sell' your dna samples to the machine which deletes the object and saves the data. A new object is created when you pull it out. Not as good on the database, but is more of a limit on our ability to run around with tons of dna samples on us.
The second idea would also be convertable to use for any resources. Open the storage gui, 'sell' your 3K block of Domesticated Corn to it, the item itself is destroyed but the information (3000 units of Aekgiheb Domesticated Corn) is saved. It would exist in there much as resources exist in a harvester hopper before retrieved. This would help all crafters, help the database, and everybody's happy.
Other old ideas:
Allow us to /dnasample dead animals. This would work like /harvest, we could only sample creatures that we or our team killed, we could only attempt one sample per creature, and it would be done instead of harvesting.
Increase our crafting xp. Chefs got 4xresources, I think that would be much more fair for us. The current numbers do not properly reflect the fact that we have to use creature resources instead of harvester resources, not to mention the difference in time and danger of getting 5 dna samples versus 100 copper...
Give Novices an automatic /dnasample icon and give us BE skill attachments. These are the last two vestiges (that I can think of, at least) from our Stepchild history. Not quite as glaring as Chiagra, but still reminders that the devs didn't even know BE was a profession at launch.
Increase creature resource supply. It was bad at launch but it gets worse every time they fix a profession that needs it. I still favor reviving the beta creature resource harvesters but at least they need to immensely increase the rate of /harvesting, fishing, eggs, mollusks, etc.
A much more ambitious request would be the ability to alter the size of creatures, perhaps some other physical traits as well.
I am not a BE (my hubby is though)... But I can tell you for SURE something like this as well as more colors would be well received by your customers!
Oh what I wouldn't give for a baby size dewback with adult stats. I just do not like the "big" pets, but many of their baby forms are sooo cute. Please consider putting size adjusting on your list!

Bionics!
How about allowing BE's to create skill/ability attachments that need to be surgically implanted on a avatar. The enhancements should be significant in effect, and they would not survive a death.
For example:
Bionic Eye +10 to Accuracy
Bionic Legs +10 Terrain negotiation or Action/quickness/stamina.
Bionic Stomach +25% stomach size, so you can eat more.
Bionic Liver +25% Stomach size, so you can drink more.
Bionic Kidneys +disease/poison resistance.
Etc...
A BE would have to obtain a sample of DNA from the recipient. Then "Grow" the new organ. Perhaps we could have cross-species Implants...extra tentacle anyone?
A Doctor would then have to install the bionics.
I you die, you lose all the modifications, since your "clone" did not have the operation performed on it.
This would give people a reason to try not to die, as well.
LOL! I re-read the bionics post cause I think the idea is clever and unique.
Then I got to thinking. Sampling DNA from recipient. Hmmm....you failed to get a viable sample. Poof! The recipient is sent to the clone center ![]()

Indeed.
I want a steel blue gurreck. Like my old RL pet, a Russian Blue cat.
Also, I'd love to have a wrix kitten who stayed kitten size indefinitely. Not to use as a combat pet, but just to sit there and be cute. A babe magnet.
