Thread: Base Destruction

It was a dev request... and I only know the basics.

If I could give them some player guides, things might change

What are you saying? That the devs don't know how to destroy a base?

(They know thecode tohow the bases are destroyed... they just don't know how players accomplish the whole task)

Does anyone have a good base destruction guide?

The more detailed the better. And not just about how to use the terminals.

Ask and ye shall receive. From my guilds forums.

So you want to slice a base. It requires 5 roles to be filled, each with a specific requirement. BH(inv 2), Smuggler (Slicing 1), BE(Novice), Commando (Heavy Weapons Support 1) and Squad Leader (novice).

Each slice does something different and sometimes have a mini game associated with it. Below is a break down of every slice type that I know how to do, and hopefully some people can reply with the info I don't have.

Before you can enter the base you must take out any turrets that are attached to the outside of the base. Currently there is an "exploit" with the turret control terms inside the base that allows the defenders to shoot at a clip equating to how fast the person using the turret control can click his/her mouse. I was told this by Shifted so I give it some credit.

If there are no turrets you can ignore all AT-STs and Stormtroopers outside the base. Just ride your bike into the front door and start working on the NPCS on the inside of the base.

The following people must be overt for 5 minutes before the slicing occurs.

Bounty Hunter
Jam the Uplink Terminal (requires Bounty Hunter: Investigation II)

This is a mini game where you try to guess a bandwith somewhere between 1-10. Select one and it will tell you higher or lower until you get it. Even if you started at 1 and went systematically to ten it shouldn't take that long to do.

Smuggler Slice the Security Terminal (requires Smuggler, Slicing I: Terminals)

This is a standard slice interface. The smuggler needs a laser knife and should also use a molecular clamp.

If the slice fails a repair option should appear on the radial menu. Select repair and in 2 to 4 minutes the terminal should be repaired and the smuggler may try again.

Bio-Engineer DNA sequence the Override Terminal (requires Novice Bio-Engineer)

This is a mini game where you are matching up the sequence provided with the appropriate DNA pair. Basically you look at the first letter in the sample string and pick the option that has the matching pair. The key is A=t and C=G. So if the string was CGATATTTACGA you would select G since the string starts with a C. If there is no appropriate answer choose a multilettered answer since that cycle was "bugged" and you need to get to the next prompt. You need to get through around 10 of these to slice this term. (If anybody has had more experience with this and wants to add feel free)

Commando Switch alignment of the Power Regulator (requires Commando, Heavy Support Weapons I)

There is a list of 10 switches displayed in an on position. The commando may flip one to the switches to off position. This will affect one or more switches. Continue flipping switches until they are all in the off position.

Squad Leader Activate overload at primary terminal (requires Novice Squad Leader)

This is just a radial option off the Imperial HQ terminal. Its so easy.

Each slice has to be done in the order described above. It will not let you slice a terminal until the previous step has been cleared.

Prevent the HQ from "shutdown" activate-able by any defending declared player. If the defenders are successful in the shutdown, there is a 5min "reboot sequence" before you can attempt step 5 again. The easiest way to do this is have everybody gang up right infront of the Imperial HQ term the Squad Leader sliced and group gank anybody running in to try and reset the terminal.

And I'll start a straight thread for it.

Okay, I'll start because I had Investigation III for a few weeks.

After assembling a crew of people, you head to said faction installation assuming it is vulnerable. After destroying the turrets (praying that they're not being manned) you all enter the base and search out the terminals.

First up is the Uplink Terminal (must have Investigation II in Bounty Hunter). There are two ways I've done this terminal. First, you access it and get a list of ten (10) channels. Choosing one will remove it from the list, narrowing down your choices while giving you a message if the correct channel is higher or lower than the one you just chose (although it is heavily bugged and often wrong). So basically you start with five and go from there.

Or you could just start selecting things at random very quickly which will get you the same result.

After narrowing down the correct band, you must do it again to get the correct channel. Rinse and repeat and you recieve 1000 Bounty Hunter XP and then the Smuggler (who must have Slicing I) can go do his business on the Security terminal.

Someone can take over from here.
