I'm "sampling" the BE profession right now, just to see how it fits me (currently 1-4-4-1 BE). Its actually a lot more versatile than I had imagined. What really interests me is its role in the economy. If you have a moment, look through and reply to some of these questions.
1) What percentage of your time in-gamedo you spend doing BE-related things (sampling, crafting BE stuff)?
Haven't sampled since making Master, I spend time making schematics and checking Harvesters and Factories
2) What percentage of your average weekly income comes from BE-related skills (selling pets or BE products)?
All income come from the Neutrients I sell
3) Do you consider BE your character's 'main' profession?
Yes, as I am also Master Merchant right now
4) If you make BE-goods, what percentage of the resources do you gather yourself (meat, harvestors)?
I buy all my meat, while harvestors get the Flora Food and other Organic
5) If you make & sell BE-goods, which ofthe 4 major BE sellables (pets, pet supplies, chef tissues, tailor tissues)do you carry, and why? Which are most profitable, and which do you sell the most of?
Chef Tissues, if i can get meat easiest to produce, BSN and INT, is all I sell.
6) If you make & sell BE-goods, do you have a vendor or use the Bazaar system?
Vendor, and I deliver (I don;t actually keep stock, everything I make is already sold)
7) If you make & sell BE-goods, which do you find to be more of a problem: finding buyers, or keeping up with demand?
Keeping up w/ Demand, I can't get enough meat
Thx in advance for any feedback.

1) What percentage of your time in-gamedo you spend doing BE-related things (sampling, crafting BE stuff)?
75% Sampling / 10% crafting (pets) / 15% wandering around
2) What percentage of your average weekly income comes from BE-related skills (selling pets or BE products)?
100% pets
3) Do you consider BE your character's 'main' profession?
BE is on my alt character, who also has master artisan. I make more money selling cars
4) If you make BE-goods, what percentage of the resources do you gather yourself (meat, harvestors)?
None. My main character (Master ch lol) harvests meat, and my friend has a stock of Chef materials.
5) If you make & sell BE-goods, which ofthe 4 major BE sellables (pets, pet supplies, chef tissues, tailor tissues)do you carry, and why? Which are most profitable, and which do you sell the most of?
100% pets - I enjoy making and selling them, so that's all I do
6) If you make & sell BE-goods, do you have a vendor or use the Bazaar system?
99% on vendor - every pet I make (even crappy) I put up. Every once in a while I'll put a pet up for sale on the bazaar. I name my pet deeds in the format:
CL## <pet name> [Sieg] (<special features>
If the CL < 10, I use the format 0# for easy sorting.
7) If you make & sell BE-goods, which do you find to be more of a problem: finding buyers, or keeping up with demand?
I make my 'living' off of selling grossly overpriced vehicles. The pets I sell are priced so that I still get a gargantuan profit, but not so high that I wouldn't pay for them with my main character.
Thx in advance for any feedback.

Again, thanks for all the feedback you all have submitted! Its been very eye opening.
I came into this thinking "Hmm, the most fun and challenging part of BE would likely be clone-engineering. But you'd prolly go belly-up doing it. The easiest but most boring would probably be tissue sales; but man, would I get rich!" I'm hearing that ring true in what I've heard so far from you guys.

1) What percentage of your time in-gamedo you spend doing BE-related things (sampling, crafting BE stuff)?
Oh, about 50%... this includes taking missions to kill critters for harvesting meat or milk. The rest of my online time is usually socializing or participating in guild hunts for fun.
2) What percentage of your average weekly income comes from BE-related skills (selling pets or BE products)?
95%... the amount I get from missions is pale in comparison. I typically bring in about half a million credits per week on average. Some weeks are better, some I may only make 150k from sales.
3) Do you consider BE your character's 'main' profession?
Yes.
4) If you make BE-goods, what percentage of the resources do you gather yourself (meat, harvestors)?
Usually about 75%... the rest I typically find on the bazaar. I only keep a heavy flora harvester.
5) If you make & sell BE-goods, which ofthe 4 major BE sellables (pets, pet supplies, chef tissues, tailor tissues)do you carry, and why? Which are most profitable, and which do you sell the most of?
I only make tissues on request, I don't usually keep my vendor stocked with crates of them.
I rarely make food additives for chefs... most chefs on my server that I've encountered want to actually payless thanwhat I have to spend to buy the resources, let alone compensate me for my time and factory use... so I've given up on chefs, let them find another sucker to exploit. But I do keep a stock of 100+ quality pets of all level ranges, and an assorment of Pet Stims in varying stack quantities... ranging from singe stacks to full crates of 50 stacks.
I seem to make the most money from pet sales, but tailor tissues are a close second.
6) If you make & sell BE-goods, do you have a vendor or use the Bazaar system?
I use both. I grabbed Business 3 to get a vendor, then dropped it after it was placed. I keep several pets with my name and shop location on the bazaar at all times, usually as an auction for more advertisement time. I also try to keep 10+ Pet Stims and several Pet Vitality Packs on the bazaar... both of which have my name and shop location branded on the item.
7) If you make & sell BE-goods, which do you find to be more of a problem: finding buyers, or keeping up with demand?
For pet sales, finding buyers... the CH population on my server seems to be dying off. Although I do sell tons of non-CH pets, approximately 6 a week, roughly. At 40k+ a pop for these, the credits add up. For tissues, I'm often scrambling to locate or purchase the required resources to make the 4+ crates each buyer typically orders.
Thx in advance for any feedback.

1) What percentage of your time in-gamedo you spend doing BE-related things (sampling, crafting BE stuff)?
50% of the time with my BE CH Swords Alt (A'sharad)
2) What percentage of your average weekly income comes from BE-related skills (selling pets or BE products)?
70%
3) Do you consider BE your character's 'main' profession?
Yes
4) If you make BE-goods, what percentage of the resources do you gather yourself (meat, harvestors)?
Gather all my own resources.
5) If you make & sell BE-goods, which ofthe 4 major BE sellables (pets, pet supplies, chef tissues, tailor tissues)do you carry, and why? Which are most profitable, and which do you sell the most of?
100% Pets. Focus on twins and triplets. Easily make 70k a pet, although most are 3rd gen monsters so I don't make a huge profit. 100% custom orders. I only make tissues for my main character and nutrients to supply the guild Chef.
6) If you make & sell BE-goods, do you have a vendor or use the Bazaar system?
Vendor. My main character is a M Armosmith/Tailor with Merchant skills.
7) If you make & sell BE-goods, which do you find to be more of a problem: finding buyers, or keeping up with demand?
Keeping up with demand.
Thx in advance for any feedback.
